I was born in the 70's and I find myself going back to music that was pure talent. The temptations were definitely in a class of its own with David Ruffin & Ali Ollie Woodson. Some voices are just heaven sent that leave the biggest impact which is priceless!! Paul voice as I listen back to me were cry outs of his battles with alcohol. May they all Rest Peacefully we now know what real talent sounds like because of you all. Blessings to their families. 🙏🏾🙏🏾😊❤❤

I walked into the "City of Refuge" church in Los Angeles in 2009-April. Ali Woodson was singing, "I 'm Going To Walk Around Heaven All Day." He was in wonderful form, although he probably had the cancer that took him away from us.... to soon. He is I am reasonably sure, singing now in heaven with the angels. A great voice. A great talent!

I'll be playing all of Ali-Ollie Woodson's songs on my next show the last Sunday in June (WFOS-FM, 3-7, on the Net). He's always been one of my favorite Temptations and I've raised more than one eyebrow when I suggested I'd rank him above David Ruffin and Dennis Edwards as their all time best first tenor. Each were special, but if I had to choose one, Ali's my choice. RIP, my brothaa, your music will NEVER die!

Thank you for this video! I find it outstanding on so many different levels. Not only is this man a great vocalist and stylist, but he dealt with throat cancer(!!!) and later with leukemia, and he still kept his faith in God. I read that his pastor (Noel Jones) and many others who knew him had great respect and affection for him. May God bless and strengthen his family. WOW--can't you hear the music in the air!

He is doing a duet with them Ali sang with many gospel singers I believe he sang with Joe Ligon ofvThe mighty Clouds of Joy. Dennis Edward's father was a minister I believe Ollie father was a preacher too. These guys came from Gospel singing up bringing I read a lot about them. They came out of the church they went to church and were members and attended Gospel Concerts they know about gospel music that their roots they did gospel before R& B

Ali Ollie Woodson has always been praising God with his voice. I can't take the narrow approach to think that he is only praising God with his talent when he is singing a gospel song. PS: Hear him on "Broken Pieces" with the Temptations

I agree. This is a lovely song that requires a gentle, yet effective voice to portray it's message. Not so much a loud and overpowering voice to get the point across. This is the downfall with lot of black gospel singers. Ali really showcased his talent on this song and I just hope he continues to choose gospel songs.

I really think if people put this type of faith, or even a fraction of this level of faith in themselves, we'd be okay. I've listened to this song from time to time for years. It's soooo powerful. They're leaving earth as they sing and the crowd follows. Now I don't believe in God or religion, but I believe in the power that people have over one another. So I guess my point is believe in yourself and believe in others. I'm not saying don't have faith or religion, but let's even it out a little. I think we all know people who implicitly trust religion to think for them instead of thinking for yourself. Just believe in yourself.

I love Ollie Woodson's voice on every song I've heard. I wish the female lead on this song didn't holler and scream so much. It was a distraction. If she had simply sang her parts like he did, it would have been so much better. Still, he carried his part well and it seems that she was trying too hard to make sure she was noticed.
@chase3218 жыл бұрын
Holly you are so right!Too many singers think they have to scream and display all types of vocal acrobatics to move the crowd!This is a problem I have with a lot of gospel singers today.What gets lost is the lyrics and the song itself.Ollie is the ultimate singer.He actually carried this song and matched her vocal to vocal without trying to over power her.I'll tell anybody if you want to see an example of powerful gospel singing,just youtube Mahalia Jackson singing "Precious Lord"
@bobbiejeansmith64074 жыл бұрын
The lady is a great singer her group too I have their music they are annointed they song with the holy spirit she may seem to over power Ollie but she was not they were giving each other a boost that's what singers do the hi fi each other. They did great. Ollie liked that. He didn't like a wimpy singer singing eith him. Honey you had to be good and strong to keep up with Ollie if not he would give you one two three. That lady honey she hung in there with him he knew it. It made him feel good. Gospel music will make you take off your shoes and run I was praising god while they were singing this song. I just wish Ollie could of beat that cancer it kept coming back god knows what's best for all of us to god be the glory. God bless them singing this song hallelujah thank you jesus tes lord I'm shouting right now as I speak my soul says yes lord hallelujah glory to god amen amen amen OOH I'm happy y'all yes lord thank you jesus yea yea yea OOH wee OOH wee❤🙏👍✝️🎚👍👍👍👍

Not really sure what you're telling me, but please feel free to challenge my thinking, it's the only way I learn. To respond to other comments, hasn't it seemed that he has not really found his "spot" in the music industry? I really thought the Temptations was his spot; he has had no better platform to display his talent and his voice fits that genre and that group perfectly. Where else can he be better?
@lindadavis628111 ай бұрын
So glad to see that he found God and apparently accepted Jesus Christ as Lord. That is much more important than the work he did with the Temptations. Hopefully by using this platform, he helped to lead others to Jesus Christ
