From Bethesda's perspective their job is complete because they offered players multiple resolutions. They don't care whether or not the characters and dialogue have any depth or nuance because they aren't banking on their fans demanding it. I think for the most part they were right at the time, but it's becoming less of a valid approach now that games like Witcher and Baldur's Gate are more mainstream and influencing gamers' tastes.

There's even ant wars at Shalebridge at the west end of the map, right under Raven rock. You can defend small ants from invading bigger legionaries ants and then invade bigger ants lair and eliminate their queen so they'll never pose threat again. After that, you can escort small ants to the surface where they can finally exist in peace, allowing nature to choose smaller and more peaceful species.

Eh... Define "cheats", and if you want the suits without taking it from what's left of them? Your options are: 1) Put better gear into them via pickpocket, leave, go through at least a few load screens (Preferably far from them), then pickpocket the costumes off them since they'll be wearing the better gear now. 2) Just go in plasma blazing, and take the suits that way. 3) Do the quest in a way that makes them give up the mantels. They'll give you the outfit, and you can trade the outfit to the other for special gear (A special laser pistol from Mechanist, and a special knife from AntAgonizer). You can also take it back from them after getting the special gear.

She also becomes a pleasant radio station after. The other is in the ruins of the Citadel, if you opt to burn it at the end of Broken Steel. It's in a desk, or safe, somewhere in the ruins. Also a *LOT* gear in their armory.
