I'm out targeting Foxes, Hares and Australia's worst native killers, FERAL CATS.
Feral cats kill an estimated 1 Billion native animals in Australia every year.
Hard to fathom isn't it? That's why I never pass up on an opportunity to rid them of our native landscape.
I have a been testing a new prototype thermal scope from HikMicro for the past month and tonight was it's first big test.
I decided to mount the Stellar SQ50 3.0 which boasts a rangefinder built into the front lens, on my 17hmr for the hares and running the Panther 2.0 on my 223 for the foxes and cats.
The Stellar performed really well and my only real disappointment was the audio quality. To be completely honest, it is terrible. Hopefully they can sort that out before going into full production.
All in all it was a ripper of a night. 2 feral cats down, one of which was the biggest one I had shot in years. 16 foxes also bit the dust along with 10 hares.
1 very happy farmer when he saw the results the following morning.
