One of the big reasons I am going to buy this tractor is to plow my driveway in the winter. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I think on these RK25 machines (you'll need to check with your local Rural King) - you have to choose either the backhoe option, or the mid-mount mower. I think something about the subframe for the backhoe eliminates the ability to use a mid-mount mower on these particular tractors. @PurpleCollarLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you like the video. I think we captured lots of great info. Very nice tractors! Unfortunately, no RK stores near me, but I assume these tractors can be ordered online. One thing I noticed was the three point hitch moves with the belly mount mower. If you're running a bush hog (or other implement) you'll have to remove the belly mower so it won't drag the ground when you're using the 3 point hitch. Otherwise, that's just resistance the tractor has to overcome. Otherwise, I think they're very nice! Thanks for sharing! 🚜

I'm not sure if they can be ordered online. Great question. The three point hitch does lift the belly mower (just like with my John Deere 2210). @PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Actually, I didn’t. Did you notice something? I don’t believe it’s a drive over system.
@sassafrasvalley19393 жыл бұрын
Chad, that was an outstanding review. It has several features that I like. The phone charging options, lighting set up, separate back hoe seat and perhaps the auto throttle. I say perhaps because I am not clear on its response triggering. Here are my questions… does engagement of the rear PTO auto-throttle to the 540RPM required for running a cutter? Or is it controlled by the forward speed pedal? Is there an override? Here’s why… if you are doing slow forward movement you may need different PTO speeds. For example if you are brush hogging you have to slowdown the forward motion to maneuver… but you still want that 540RPM. On the other hand, if you are tilling soil you want much lower RPM’s and will vary your forward speeds a lot. Having the RPM’s constant is important for the tiller and can’t be tied to travel speed. As I said, nice job presenting that tractor.
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and the compliments! I'm really impressed with all the features too - and you can't beat the Yanmar engine. The engagement of the PTO requires you to use the actual throttle lever to adjust to 540 RPM. If you're running any equipment that requires the 540 speed (or 2000 mid-mount mower speed), you use the throttle lever and adjust accordingly. During those times, you wouldn't use the Auto-Throttle. Great question - thanks for letting me clarify.

Are you aware of this and do you have any info on this like price, and can you remove the doors on this Cab. Oh, I grew up on a farm in Warren Pa,. I believe just northeast of you. Hi Bob. Thanks for watching the video. You're correct. The RK25 does have an available cab. The cab does have heat only. I've never seen it, and I'm not sure about if the doors come off. I do know that the doors coming off of the Curtis Cab I have on my John Deere is a necessity without air conditioning. It gets pretty hot in the summer. As far as pricing, I'm not sure. I've never seen literature on the cab option.

@brandonmacklenar14843 жыл бұрын
I do wish RK would follow along with JD and Kubota and have a 25 pto hp version of the RK25 like the 2032R/2038R and LX3310. The higher hp allows better PTO power for 60” implements cutters. 48” cutters are just too narrow for the wider stance.
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brandon - I think in order to make 25 PTO horsepower, the RK25 would actually have to be a larger engine hp, which would make it be over that 26 hp threshold that requires the extra emissions system. As it is, it's more in line with the Kubota L2601, the Kioti CK2610, and other tractors with these slightly larger frames, but HP under 26. I do agree that these are not powerful enough to run the 60" PTO implements (brush hog, finish mower, rototiller). I think if you really need the 60" capability, I'd stick with the RK37. Thanks for watching and commenting. I think this is a great discussion point.
@brandonmacklenar14843 жыл бұрын
@@PurpleCollarLife , it’s not that I need 60” implements. It’s that 48” implements don’t cover the width of the tractor, so you’re always running over the uncut grass, or ground you’ve already tilled. I love the size of the RK25, but the 54” width is awkward for PTO driven implements.

I myself was looking to buy a rk25 with backhoe, to be honest I tried once but was denied; so one of my brother decided to help me get one . But when we went to buy one , at our local rule king ( in Elyria Ohio ) and I bet others location have one main problem that doesn’t work nor help in there sales. When we went to buy one that was in stock. No one was their to sell it. I was disappointed, and upset that no one was their to talk to us, show us, and buy one . Yes, their was employees that was helpful and friendly but no salesperson? I waited an hour for someone, by them I was extremely upset, disappointed and told the front desk I be back . The closer I got to out car the more disgusted I was. How do you expect to sell a product if their no one to sell it . This is my only gripe I have with RK . So if you please show this to them , maybe by next year we would have a better result. Well if we but a different brand.
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
That would be very disappointing. I can't speak for the Elyria, Ohio location - but at this RK, they're quickly able to get you to someone who knows about these tractors. They even have an office area they've made JUST for tractor sales. It's really a nice system at this Rural King. I typically do call ahead and make sure that Chris is there before I stop in to talk tractors. But you're right that it's not like a car sales lot, where someone is likely to see you looking around at a tractor and come out to sell. I can see that as both good and bad. Did you ever end up getting the RK25? Were there other brands/models you were looking at? I'd enjoy hearing about your tractor search.

$23,700 for RK25H w/backhoe & 60" mower deck. You can get a John Deere 1025r w/backhoe & mower deck or a Kubota BX23S for about the same. I'd choose the Deere or Kubota.
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason - Maybe I'm not figuring it right, but when I do the build-and-price on John Deere's website, for a 1025R with loader, backhoe and mower deck, and adding the work lights and radio - I get $27,613. And it doesn't let me choose R14 tires - plus it's a smaller frame and tire size. You know I'm a big John Deere fan, but I like the frame size and tire size of the RK25 better than the 1025R. Plus - the RK still has the Yanmar engine, and an 8 year warranty, plus loaded tires, all all the bells and whistles. I'd say you can't go wrong with either machine. It's really personal preference after doing research and driving all the brands. I will say that I continue to be more and more impressed with the RK and Kioti brands.

@@PurpleCollarLife it's not a whole lot more for JD or Kubota. And everybody has one of those dealers in their backyard. A RK could limit your audience. Just wanted to mention it for anyone considering it. You can't get the RK25 w/backhoe along with the mowing deck (or mid pro for that matter). I got it with the backhoe and learned about the mid pto delete on delivery. They told me the deck wouldn't work right now because they were still working out the mounting due to the backhoe sub frame being in the way. I figured I'd get the mid mount deck later once they figured it out but they removed the mid pto as well so I'll have to figure that out as well if I go that route. Likely I'll just get a 3pt mow deck due to it all. Just wanted to throw it out there so your not surprised like I was. Like my RK 25 though just something to think about if the mid PTO is something you need.
