Even after 4 years ago this was videoed it is still enjoyable to watch Mike take care of a tractor and not abuse it and get the job done. Thanks again Mike for sharing with us. OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.

I have a 57 horsepower LS tractor with a front end loader. It has a heavy grapple bucket (Everything Attachments) mounted on the front. Unfortunately, it has tractor tires on the front axle instead of industrial tires so they get a little squishy when I lift things up. I can typically lift way more than what is safe so I have to be careful, especially on uneven terrain or when I turn. I always keep the load low to the ground. Those grapple buckets are a dream come true when it comes to clearing trees, brush and moving logs!

Thanks Mike for sharing your honest oppinion on these versital and capable RK tractors. I'm happy to see they have produced a grapple and thumb for the RK 24. I've had one set up like Sherman before grapple and thumb upgrade since March of this year and have used it for a number tasks. Have added a grader blade, post hole auger and sub-soiler. Little Red, as I call her, has never failed to perform above my expectations. Today I picked a thumb for the backhoe. Can't wait to install it and start moving some wood. It looks like the grapple is not going to be readily available in my area till Jan. They are supposed to have a retrofit kit to keep cost down and not have to replace the loader assembly.

That's a pretty amazing little tractor. How you cut the wood up reminds me of how my dad and I used to haul wood out of the woods we would cut them and 5 foot sections put them on the trailer haul them home and every Saturday during the winter we would saw enough wood for the week and carry it into the house

Grapple + Sub Compact = amazing capabilities. Logs, boulders, and brush. I had a brush pile 8’ high, 40’ long, 20’ wide that had accumulated over a period of 30 yrs by previous owners of our property. It was child’s play to pull all of it out of the woods with a grapple. Hiring the job out would have cost more than the grapple.

The beauty of a sub compact is you can do some pretty heavy wok, and it doesn't tear up the ground too bad. Look at the tracks Mike has left after hauling all those logs, hardly a foot print. Nice!!

The loader picking up the heavier logs isn't the problem. When you see the load being transported and a bump makes it start to sway side to side is the danger. To much pressure on the pivot points and frame mounts could fail the welds when the weight wracks the loader. I still love the tractor and am seriously thinking about getting a RK !!!

I rented a small New Holland tractor with a small loader bucket, maybe a quarter yard ... less ... for cleaning up all the dirt from digging a swimming pool. When I would get that bucket full, sometimes I was just driving on the front wheels and sometimes only one of them. Very creepy when stopping or turning. I haven't seen Sherman lift the back wheels off the ground yet, but I'm sure it's coming. Keep the load close to the ground!

Generally hydraulics will go and go and go until all the stuff that supports the power of the hydraulics starts to fail. I mean the way a guy finds out what the load limit is is when the rear end comes off the ground if nothing breaks. Those logs look mostly like boiler wood quality or stuff for personal use; too much punk in many to sell for premium unless ya shave it all off with the chainsaw.
