Man, Woman it shouldn’t matter. She’s is a legend and wrote some of the best iconic songs in rock. Pretenders have always held their own. The band has gone through so many up’s and extremely low’s and came out the other side and spoke to a generation...🎶😎🎶

@@dianainclan2021 The death of the outstanding, sonically unique guitarist James Honeyman-Scott and having to release Bassist Pete Farndon due to drug issues. To lose both, particularly James, to drug overdoses after they released their second album would have caused most people to call it quits. Because of Chrissie's fortitude and determination, The Pretenders still carried on and continued to make quality albums. In fact, to this day Chrissie's still going strong at nearly 70 years old. A truly amazing, talented, and strong Woman.

I'm that now...I'm doing fine...didn't ruin my body with drugs etc so yeah you dont age if you take care of yourself. But yeah I saw her couple three years ago in upstate NY festival, she looked the same really and sounded awesome. Chrissie never lost her hardcore...

I remember seeing this when it first aired and being shocked at how good it was. The Pretenders hadn't really been on my radar screen at the time. I can't believe it was 26 years ago! Her look and moves here remind me of the late Christina Amphlett of DiVinyls, But Chrissie is her own woman. Huge talent.

Saw the Pretenders back in ‘85 in Gainesville Fl. They were awesome...the drummer did this thing where he’d send drumsticks sailing out into the audience...Chrissie was just as amazing then as she is here.What a great band.

Love Love Love this!!! Was in love with Chrissie as a teenager and she has aged like fine wine. And as others have mentioned she was 44 at this time killed it!! Who would have known the tough kick ass rocker chick had moves that rivaled any pop stars of the time... Missed this when it came out more reason to love her a true all around talent and person... Saw Pretenders in Seattle (Arena) back in Feb. 1984 with the Alarm for the Learning to Crawl tour. Awesome show live. Honeyman-Scott and Farndom had passed already, but Chrissie held it together. Their first album is rock royalty..

She has the self confidence of a girl who has always been pretty. Although she kind of tried to cover it up, she is very good-looking and has a great "figure". And a fantastic songwriter. Hard to beat that combination.

She's also had to face disasters that would have terminated most bands, notably the brutal loss in 1982 of half the original group to drug addiction, just at the point when they seemed to be heading for a great third album (Learning to Crawl, two years later, did come out good, but a very different kind of album!). I think the mix of vulnerability and grit in her voice is a big part of her attraction as a singer (it's heard in the way she phrases high notes and tone-bends: "I've been driving /Detroit leaning", "but what can I doooo?") After all, when she set out in the 1970s it was practically unheard of to have a rock band captained by a lady - there were some female singer-songwriters of course (Joni Mitchell, Melanie etc) but they very rarely kept a permanent band built to last over several years. I'm sure she's met lots of people trying to take advantage of her in various ways...
