I first heard this song in 2006 (don't mind me, I know I was late, I'm a millennial lol) and I instantly fell in love with it. My dad passed away on 12/23/19 from cancer. So close to Christmas time. The first year I couldn't process anything especially being so close to the holiday. The second year I couldn't process anything due to Covid. This year, when I listened to this song (felt like the first time I ever heard it) I could finally let it all out. Thank you Chrissie for your amazing vocals on this song. I love this song. I remember listening to it as a 20 yo in 1984 when I was sitting in a gate shack at a Hawk Missile site on a snowy mountain top in West Germany. I always volunteered to work Christmas and preferred the midnight to 6am shift - it was silent, snowing heavily, and incredibly beautiful. It's one of my deepest memories.
