I am a newer locksmith. I am grateful for all of your videos. You will talk about an older lock and then I will run across it on a job. Thank you for what you do.

This is great Jason, thanks for making and sharing this series. I’ve encountered most of this stuff but since I don’t do it a lot I find I forget and have to re-learn the same things over and over. A video like this is a great reference point to go back to for a quick refresher-thanks again 😊🙏

We appreciate all the work you put into your content and all the awesome stuff you do for #LOCKFORCE. I'm often not sure how you have the time to continue being a locksmith.

I will never forget the first time I re-keyed Defiant locks. It was a friggin nightmare..Lol I had to watch a how to video just to finish the job. I got two of those cylinders stuck in the doorknobs (managed to get out) I hated, hated, hated those locks. Now days they are a breeze and I actually appreciate the easy re-key.

The worst of all the knockoffs I've encountered is the ones from walmart. Had a poor old guy who was recovering from like a hernia surgery and thought that maybe he wasn't strong enough to install the lock cuz he couldn't get the screws to start. I went and checked it out and basically the problem was the damn female end wasn't tapped right for the screws to hold the door knob on. Great info! I'm learning something on every video.

So many ridiculous Kwikset (and Kwikset like) designs. I agree with Gerald Skinner, the first time I came across a Defiant I spent way more time than necessary rekeying the thing. These are great videos, please keep them coming.

I don't think I have ever seen one with the "arrow" that gets pushed up. I have seen the ones with the reverse set screws. Would you use bluegoo (locktite) on the set screws? I found it handy to put a blank key in the cylinder to prevent it from falling inside the knob until I was in a position to remove it completely. When the cylinder falls in the knob sideways it's a real pain. Thanx for taking time to make the video.

Just because it's called Kwikset, doesn't mean it's easy.... ;) Have a great day

Jason are you familiar with the older Kwikset UL entry leversets? I came across a residential job complex that used these locks. I thought these were Titans but upon inspection I can see they are not. First, no Titan reference on the latch face, second std 5 pin key, third the locks went in '92 (Titan first appears in 92-93). Lastly and most striking is that similar to locks having Euro Profile cylinders, the cylinder hole on the handle as seen from the front has a notch cut out to accomodate the cylinder bible, this leads me to believe these are removable core cylinders. Since I dont believe there is a 5 pin core removal key, I am thinking this could be a 6 pin removable core cylinder that is pinned only to 5 pins. Your thoughts?
