Dear oh dear. I can say - in it's current form - with overwhelming confidence that this Distro IS a COMPLETE AND UTTER NIGHTMARE for any newcomer. It would likely put me off Linux forever if it was my first experience. The procedure of 'taking' from other distros should be fully automated and GUIfied. Even ReactOS would be more friendly to a newbie than this.

16gb is plenty if you are using btrfs subvolumes to manage everything. Heck, with btrfs compression enabled you can easily get down to 12gb physical needed for 2 copies, leaving you with 4gb for user data.

Cool. I didn't know that. I will dig into that a little.

Oh snap. I totally forgot about btrfs compression. Subvolumes is amazing. I feel like btrfs is seriously underestimated for what you can get out of it. Btrfs really does saves a ton of disk space.

10:30 permission denied is a typical error where root user (or sudo privilidges) must be active. Whether this is applies to an immutable system I don't know. The English in the documentation is 'off' so perhaps the documentation simply neglected to mention root/sudo is needed? Edit. Aaah, just seen 13:58 onwards.

I installed this on a new user's computer for them and told them to follow the documentation and they will be fine. 😆

An Immutable a.k.a. Paranoid Linux Distro. Very much like: the user CANNOT be trusted!
@kychemclass5850Ай бұрын
When I hear "It's for my computer based safety" I usually interpret that a certain way. P.S. how easy is it to trace/examine a hacker or malware in an immutable system? Hummm.

It's true though, a lot of people cannot be trusted with technology. The kind of people who don't care to learn an OS but are trying, clicking and installing all kinds of things. At least with this OS they can go back to a previous tree when they break the whole thing.
