.........as a retired bus driver, have witnessed processions with buses like this......obviously did not know the guy, but brought a tear to my eyes for him.....R.I.P. Freddy.......

I'm a 1948 boy too. I associate the bus more with the 68 route, certainly on Sundays. I guess keeping the TC showbus on the 190 meant that any vandalism was confined to local youth rather than the Elephant and Camden contingents! The registration no. was unique too. RIP Fred, though I never knew you.

AHH ! That was nice ! I worked at Thornton heath garage from 1976 until December 1995 ! On the what was then the running shift !! ( Engineer ) So probably new him ? anyone remember me ?
