RM saying he wants to remove some songs from Mono actually indicates that he is now at a better place because mono came from a very dark place. Though there are a lot of us who are still in that place, who are still connected to mono so deeply, we are very happy for rm too 😊

Do you really think it's the dark ones he wanna remove or not just that he doesn't feel so satisfied with some now? I have a hard time believing he would wanna remove songs for that reason. Did he say that specifically and I missed it? And I do not feel they are so dark either in a negative way. They just feel human.
@mai_boo2 жыл бұрын
@@Cookie_moonlove I dont know (and honestly dont even want to know) which songs he would remove. He did say in the interview that although he is proud of some the tracks he wants some them gone too. I think it’s not the satisfaction part that bothers him, i guess it would be that he doesnt feel attached to the songs as much. One specific comparison i would like to do: in Tokyo he says "And ash is the thing that someday we all should be" but in Still Life he says "life is better than the dead I'll prove it" Again, in Seoul, he was so out of emotion that Love and Hate, two opposite but strong emotions was same to him. Indigo shows us how much he has changed and grown, the monochrome became indigo, a shade of blue

About Wild Flower... Really love how RM said he didn't want to be like fireworks, bc even tho it's so flashy and everyone would stop and stare at it in amazement, it also dies so quickly and ppl even forget what they look like in a minute. But flowers, when you throw them in the air and the petals explode, it's so ethereal that even as it falls down, it falls with grace and gives you a lasting impression and a sense of tranquillity. That's how he wants to be, and it's fitting to think that's also how the rest of BTS wanted to be: not just a passing presence in the music world, but ppl that made a genuine impact. 🥺

at the end of all day ft. tablo, the line that says "we fly" is a reference to the song fly by epik high (the iconic korean hip hop group tablo is a part of) and that's actually the song that inspired both rm and suga to start rapping. epik high were their idols and now they're great friends making art together, more than a decade later.

For "Forgetful", the producer actually recorded in secret and added to the end, the footsteps and rustle of their clothes when RM was walking with the collaborator. The "Indigo Album Magazine Film" (on BangtanTV) which explains the songs one by one with the collaborators, is a great watch 💜 P/s: For "Yun", the conversation at the end is the actual artist Yun talking about perspectives of being human.

@loredell2 жыл бұрын
Angela, you cannot expect him to be in the same state of mind when he wrote and released RM, when he wrote and released mono and when he wrote all these precious songs in Indigo. I don't want anyone being depressed for decades, even though there are cases like that... He said that as soon as he releases something it's because it's free and doesn't feel that way anymore (he said it in his famous vlive too "don't worry, I don't feel like that anymore" because people were worrying about him by listening to/reading the lyrics). For me it's not bittersweet. Mono is free to drink from it whoever needs it lyrically, or even once in a while coming back to it. I love all the songs with a passion, but I do understand what he meant by it. Maybe he felt he exposed too much, or also that he doesn't feel like that, he might think of himself as a whiner. Coming back to the Korean culture, that's a big one. And the idol culture to add to it. Like they sang in Ugh "you have money, why do you complain?". So yeah, he let go mono as well as he's let Indigo go now. He'll promote, he'll sing, but the songs are no longer his. No longer his current state of mind. Even if the underlying meaning of it all remains in his being, his state right now is different. :* Rest assured, the songs belong to us now. They are precious. He's the artist that carved them to get the pain out. As all creation is pain (he even said this to Pharrell). Some of it doesn't need to be relived. Hugs!

I am so emotionally attached and grateful for mono that I was almost doubtful I could connect to this album as well as mono. Mono found me in a time when I needed it and sat next to me and comforted me in the dark. I often affectionately call it “if depression was an album”. That being said, I have found myself connecting to Indigo just as much and I suspect in the future even more. It feels like my older self is reaching out and telling me that things will get gradually better. It’s hopeful in a non-flashy way, in a way that I wish to be as a person. I dont know how to explain it but Namjoon feels like a kindred spirit. The sentiment in forg_tful is one Ive carried around all my life. Lonely expresses the feelings i have living in a foreign country where it’s difficult for me to make friends. Closer encapsulates my longing to be close to people, to feel close. Wildflower portrays my desire for a gentle happy life, not a fiery and explosive one. No.2 is older me telling me that I’m in the right path, not because it was the right one but because I’m walking it. Namjoon’s music has a sort of butterfly effect on me. A small difference that touched and shaped my life in a gentle yet significant way. Sorry for the long comment, this music has a soul spilling effect on me😆

Honestly I think you would adore epik high which is the khip hop group that tablo is in, they’re the group that inspired both suga and rm to start rapping and they’ve been in the industry for quite a while, they are a lot of kpop idols inspiration and they really respect and love bts as well. You would be mind blown with their lyrics, especially Taboo’s I have been waiting for RM and Tablo to do a song together for years because they both are the definition of giving you an existential crisis with their lyrics. I was actually surprised the song was more upbeat but I’m not complaining. Suga also produced a song for them as well called ‘eternal sunshine’ I know you have a lot of artists to react to but if you ever get a chance to listen to an epik high album I think you’d love it. If you ever do I would recommend the albums ‘we’ve done something wonderful’ or ‘epik high is here part 1’ for a first listen to

I didn’t watch the interview that you did, but I watched a different interview where he talked about the songs from this album, and Still Life, was the name of an art exhibit he attended at a museum, years ago. He said that he was struck by how all the flowers and fruit in the paintings had been dead and decayed hundreds of years ago in some cases, but still looked fresh on the canvas. And then he drew the parallel to his life. So much of his life has been captured, not on canvas, but on video. But the RM captured in those moments is not who he is anymore because he keeps changing and developing and moving on from moment to moment. It’s a cool concept but for some reason it also made me a little bit sad.

I adore it when you review BTS albums because you truly get it.. You have come to understand the person behind the art and how much of their bare souls go into their music. You listen with sincerity and it's so lovely.. By the way, I had the same reaction to Change pt.2! The ever-changing dissonance was so deliciously perfect and RM's delivery was so unusual, dark and grungy, though it wasn't loud or forceful. He said he recorded it when he was drunk to the beat of a metronome. I think eAeon who produced the track did an incredible job with all those strange sounds that were perfectly dissonant. They really are not nt to be together, but produce such a fascinating clash that it has me hooked. Indigo is such a work of art and heart.. I'm so damn proud of Namjoon. From the lyricism to the delivery and every single artistic choice, he displayed such depth and knowledge. Coz how do you create an album so diverse with all these artists and know exactly who you need on which track to express exactly what you mean? RM mentioned that each of the collaborators were his first choice for each song and that's crazy.. It's also a testament to his artistry that he could bring all of them together to create this masterpiece..

I feel like I've heard other people criticize the song since it's " not the norm" and they say no one would like it, which is strongly dissagree. As an avid electronic music fan and producer myself, I love that he took those risks. It's not easy to do, it's an amazingly composed song that doesn't follow a formula but works so well. He is showcasing his true artistry here. Much love!

*After listening to & reading the lyrics of **#indigo** & all i can say is that namjoon was born for this; one of the greatest songwriters & lyricists to exist..Thank you for this masterpiece joon! Thank you for Indigo* I love how both "Jack In The Box" & "Indigo" dwell deeper into the depth of BTS members' artistry & show a side that we haven't seen but remains entirely different. JITB is more explosive, like firecrackers with bursts of spark. While indigo is very tranquil yet just as powerful.🍃 JITB is a forest fire 🔥 & Indigo is the ocean on an overcast day🌊 ..it perfectly reflects each member ✨ can’t wait for other members’ upcoming solo albums!💜 now about the title track: Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly." It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.

His lyrics hit you right in the heart and make you feel heard and understood. Also can we talk about his vocals in Forg_tful?? Like please what can't this man do? And that last lyric of Lonely destroyed me, as well as the entirety of Wild Flower. Every single song is an absolute masterpiece, there are 0 skips. Catchy melodies, meaningful lyrics, fire production, insane collabs, visuals, vocals, honesty, RANGE!!! This album has it all. It's going to be a classic for sure! He poured his heart and soul, and it was so gut-wrenchingly beautiful!!! Everyone please keep streaming Indigo on all platforms, let's do this for Namjoon because he deserves every bit of success! Also, just wanted to let you know that JITB was ranked #9 on Rolling Stones 100 Best Albums of 2022!!! 😊

I love you album reactions, I always get more prespective on the songs. RM finished with No.2 to close out his 20's He said he is on to the 2nd part of his career. Also did you hear he recorded Change pt2 drunk and they ended up using that vocal! It is a VIBE!!!

So Seoul is the Capital City of South Korea, and it's pronounced just like the word Soul. About the flowers with no names. I interpreted that to be ARMY's, because he's RM, and that is not really a name, he is still trying to find Real Me, and ARMY's are many times just faces to him, because when he see's us, there are upwards of 50.000 of us at a time. So he couldn't know our names, he just knows us as ARMY's. He want's to be with the flowers with no names. I dont know if it's right, but the purple represents ARMY, and the flower petals flying around him are purple flower petals in the field of lavendar wild flowers. I really love this video and I love his music. This is his final archive of his 20's. He just turned 28 in September, and in Korean age he turns 30 on January 1st, so he considers himself 30 now. A fun fact - for his performance in Seoul at Rolling Hall, he held a raffle for 200 ARMY's, to win a ticket to his performance. It's a small performance hall that holds 200 people, and when he was an underground rapper, he dreamed about performing there. He chose this place for perfoming INDIGO with some of his Korean collaborators, and he had ARMY's come without their ARMY Bombs or Cell Phones. He was so happy. He got to be with the flowers with no names, and he could see their faces up close in an intimate setting. What I would have given to be there. If you get a chance, you should watch it. That would be an awesome reaction. This youtube creator does BTS subtitles and translations using doolset bangtan, and she has most of their solo projects subtitled, with live performances. She has the Rolling Hall perforances broken up into single or double songs. www.youtube.com/@EnjoyBTSmore/videos

not sure if you had already planned to but i really recommend you watch the Indigo Magazine Film that was released on the BangtanTV youtube channel, they go into depth on the meaning of every single song and interviews with RM and all the collaborators for each track, talking about how they made everything. it's truly fascinating and will give such a better insight into everything.

You should watch the NPR Tiny Desk concert he did where he explains the inspiration for Yun and Still Life, which are both based on things he realised in museums

honestly, i have never heard a more cohesive album by any artist. this album is art before it is music, just how namjoon had mentioned. this is a literal masterpiece, i would be very surprised if this is not nominated for big award ceremony next year.

ive been thinking this for awhile but all of bts' music so far, group projects or solo, are all diaries entries. the beginning of this song when he says he imagined an end where he can applaud and smile even before they fully started their career is so reminiscent of the sentiment and messages of hyyh pt 2 album (the most beautiful moments in life part 2). When he says the line about even becoming friends with his shadows is pulling directly from the map of the soul era when they delved in deep into their psyche and came to terms with everything between bright and dark within them. That was necessary for them to give us what this era (chapter 2) is. Towards the end of this song when he says he'll plant his feet now but he'll return some day is on beat with the messages of Yet To Come. They truly let us witness and learn from their growth as people and public figures from their bodies of work. Its honestly a privilege to be able to consume their art.

Please react to, or listen on your own, RM ‘Indigo’ Album Magazine Film on BangtanTV, where RM talks about each song, his inspiration, why he chose the featured artist, and where he is in his life right now. Genius!
