KZbin tutorials are a blessing. When I was a young teenager my curiosity and determined, but ignorant, "I can do it myself" attitude had me learn all of this the hard way - by trial and error - on my Blaster. Good times. Great upload BTW. My Blaster still runs great, but I couldn't stop watching due to nostalgic reminiscing; "Dad!!! I need your help again. It's the last time - I swear!" Lol

Great post man. I had a blaster when I was 15, back in 2003, and just like you I learned the hard way on everything as I tried fixing things myself. Every young man has that curiosity in him I think. Quads are a great intro to the world of mechanics.

Compression is key! The lame 6.6:1 Stock compression is ok for beginners, as those advanced, modding with a port n polish along with high compression, and bigger air intake and carb, are the ticket along with changing out the sprockets to different sizes, taller up front and smaller out back. My daughter's Yamaha blaster does a little over 70mph and it will eat my brother's 400 Polaris scrambler in a drag race. Don't fall short on running good 2-stroke oil, every one has there own they love. I like my amsoil for oil injection, watch farm project it actually runs over 20 degrees cooler than other synthetic 2-stroke oils

GPS on my cell said otherwise...I'll put money down on it, and like I said it's geared up on front sprocket. Down on back sprocket. 22" tall rear tires. Bring it on....

Great video....BUT there is no way I'd use that cheap china stuff. Those parts fail at a very alarming rate, and are the reason cases for the blaster are getting hard to find and expensive ( once that cheap piston drops the skirt and wedges material between the crank and cases). Ask any engine builder out there (Ken O Connor Racing, Eric Gorr, etc) what they think of these parts, you won't like the answer. I am honestly surprised you guys offer and promote these cheap parts. Boring the oem cylinder and using QUALITY parts ( Quality brand piston kit and gasket set ) will be the best way to keep these machines reliable.

Please answer this question. Why does your Reed boot have a blocked hole at the top but mine is open???
@pollux2825 Жыл бұрын
it’s blocked to prevent an air leak. If yours is open you got a huge air leak

Do you know how to fix a blaster that won’t shift passed 3rd gear?
@rmatvmc Жыл бұрын
It's hard to say exactly what the cause could be but it sounds like a transmission inspection and rebuild is what's needed.

When my blaster blew up on the side of the tip of the piston chiped off and dug into my boar dose anyone know why?
@RubberSalt2 жыл бұрын
Those green base gaskets tend to leak and blow out. Those china pistons tend to grenade. The cheap wrist pin is the worst part of all. They can't take the load of the blaster... I'm only 3 minutes in

No glue necessary. Especially not on the head gasket. Just make sure your gasket surfaces are clean and use new gaskets. -Charles

Great tutorial. Crappy Chinese top end.
@matthewedwards6108 Жыл бұрын
I just bought one and guess what this same top end is what is on it and now im having to have a OEM top end bored and fit for new piston just to put this bike back together. Like its ment to be the Chinese top end was junk and bike was running hot cause of it and would have cost major failure just like a great bike here and a original top end that u just took off to make it so called easy when u could have put the OEM back on it bored to the next size .... if i was the owner and you pulled this 💩 ud be replacing it with the oem or not getting paid knowing the part you put in will not last at all
