Nice review man! Thorough as can be, showing off every zipper, pocket, and feature. Very comprehensive. They should use you on the MH as their demo video doesn't show much. Thank you, this video sealed the deal for me on buying this.

Sold! Awesome review. You have made up my mind. You are right in saying that the companies don't do a good job of showcasing the pockets! Thanks for the great review!

Over the years I've amassed a collection of "tactical" backpacks ie. LBT, mystery ranch, 2 packs I was issued by Uncle Sam and many others. Although they all serves their purpose I think this pack is going to serve me well as an edc due to the organization pockets and low profile look for travel. Can't wait to pick it up!

I noticed you are wearing a 5.11 tee shirt. My favorite backpack is a 5.11 I found on sale at the 5.11 store not 5 minutes from my driveway. It was on sale for $55 and came with a morale patch. It is all black and what I love is that the front pouch separates from the main backpack and has a more than ample shoulder strap, both in width and length. I use the pouch as an EDC bag for my wallet, cell phone, Anker battery and cord, EDC folding knife, Bic, mask and/or neck gaiter, Rite in the Rain 4"X6" writing pad, writing implement, car keys and whatever else I need to carry. The main pack is 25 liters with molles on the front flap at the top with a centered morale patch panel (enough for two patches). It has several zippered mesh and felt-lined pockets, durable mesh water bottle pockets each side panel. It's more than ample for a day hike and has accommodated gear for a warm weather overnight camp. I'm amazed that such quality was sold at 55 bucks. My other favorites are by Savotta (Finland) and Mystery Ranch (USA).

That's amazing, I actually use to work for 5.11! I'm thinking your pack was the Rush 12 or Rush 24. It is an awesome pack and I definitely should do a video review on them as I have a couple laying around! That's a great loadout

Two months now. It’s been my bag for work, so I use it every day. And also fits my harness and shoes for those after work climbing sessions. With MH I also have crag wagon 60 (yellow/black)-a great one for hauling climbing gear outdoors, and the scrambler roll top 35, one that’s water proof that they don’t make any more. I haven’t used it yet. But these are the packs I’m keeping and I love MH backpacks for their functions and look.

You should checkout the MPL v.2 by Evergoods. They managed to put a full clamshell on a bag with two full sized water bottle holders! It’s a 30 liter sized bag, but the side compression straps can cinch it down when you don’t need all the volume the pack offers. Although I think the material it’s made from will be dog hair magnet. Cheers!
@rmkvisions4 жыл бұрын
I have definitely seen some of the pictures of the new MPL and it looks solid. I am not a fan of that hair magnet, but that's more secondary. I might have to try to get my hands on one! - Thanks JKC!

@@rmkvisions -are you part of the Carryology group on Facebook? I know Jack Barley(one of the owners of Evergoods)is on there and he interacts with people all the time. Also have you reached out to manufacturers for products for reviews? They are always looking for new ambassadors and reviewers and with your growing clout here on KZbin, it’s worth looking into.

Per cost this bag seems as good or better as evergoods. And lighter by just over a pound. I had an MH enterprise 28 that I loved and used daily as an outdoor guide for over a year and then as a commuter bag for another couple years before it got stolen. Excited about this follow up that shares a lot of features (though the enterprise had better looking colors imo)

Welp I was going to get the mystery ranch coulee25 and also use it for a daypack, now I might get this mountain hardware and use it for a hiking pack. On the Coulee 25 can you fit your 13” laptop in the bladder pocket, I don’t think so and would have to just put mine in a case in the main pocket. I do like the load lifters and compression straps but this video made the Mountain Hardwear look really good. Do you think the Futura straps would be overkill on a daypack / edc or does it not stand out as extreme hiker in urban settings? A bag for each would be practical but I need to choose one that can do both, any thoughts are much appreciated.
@rmkvisions4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! I think the Coulee 25 is one of my favorite hiking and day packs I've ever used, with that being said I don't think it's that good for everyday carry. The lack of a laptop sleeve and internal organization really stands out, I think the mountain hardwear backpack would be much better suited for an EDC or day pack along with a hiking pack. I'd rather have a backpack with a laptop sleeve that is hydration bladder compatible than a hydration bladder sleeve that isn't laptop compatible. I do think the shoulder system and harness on the mystery ranch is amazing and I don't think it would look overkill for everyday.

Hi Trevor, Thank you for your video, the truth is that I had seen the brand but never interested in their products, now with your video called my attention this backpack and their colors. But I was wondering how water resistant it is, for example their zippers, especially in very rainy situations, I do not see on your page that they make much reference if they make for example some treatment in their zippers against water (DWR treatment), have you tried or tested this backpack under the rain? Thank you again!!
@rmkvisions4 жыл бұрын
I have not tested this in rain yet, however the Ripstop fabric used on this pack should over amazing water resistance. "420D nylon with special carbonate coating for additional durability." Now for zippers these do not have any Aquaguard or of the like, but they are high quality and should do just fine. If you need more water-proofness I would invest in a rain cover just for those rare occasions. - Trevor
