I noticed the RNDI stereo has no instrument/speaker switch? If you were to use a line level source like a synth with the RNDI mono, would you use it in instrument mode?

Yea, this is all nice and good but makes little sense without comparing it to the dry signal....

when you plug synths into rndi, does it need additional gain from a preamps after goin througn the RNDI? OR if i have my unbalanced synth on max volume , can you go synth into RNDI and then straight into line input of audio interface? which one is the correct way..

RNDI has to be run into a pre amp for 48V, and with a high level output synth you would generally need around 15-20dB gain to a get a good level

@@RupertNeveDesigns what if you provide 48v from a standalone power supply. do you still need preamp for proper gain staging? or the gain is enough from a keyboard at max volume. are you saying 15--20db additional gain from a preamp besides the high level output from synt? or synths at max volume can cover that ground?

Can this unit be used to color mixes sorta like a summing box?

it can be used to add color (and also the color of the mic pre it runs into), but a line level device would always be a better option unless there's a specific mic pre character you are looking to get and usually that would be a bit extreme for a mix.

Can this handle a full mix from a daw ?
