Absolutely love RA! It's a blast to drive and spectate. I've been attending events there for over 40 years and I always look forward to returning.

Thanks, glad you like it! 2010 Mustang GT camera car, no mods except some nice Roush forged wheels and 275/40-18 P-Zeros. With 315hp I had expected a bit more top end yet this is a video tutorial for all skill levels so I'm not expecting a rank novice in a new Z06 to blast 140+ into braking zones as braking safely from 140 to 70mph is a skill to work up to...

I just had a chance to drive RA the other day! It was the coolest thing that I have done in a long time!

So many people drive Road America wrong at several areas. This is amost exactly the line that I teach. Good job. What car? Mustang GT? You now need to get the speeds up to show a realistic lap. You should be around 140mph into 1,5,12. Faster yet with other cars. Example NSX/E46 M3/Mustang GT should hit 140mph and run about a 2:45-2:50 laptime. Z06/GT3/GTR will shave off 10 seconds, and add 10-15mph.

Good question; the second lap uses just a bit more tire vs. the first warm-up lap... Consistency is the key; push safely and gradually toward the edge of the tire's capability and for a HPDE not to go beyond. As you know, focus on technique and speed follows naturally.

Fun as hell at RA! If I was working at 6 flags, I would call in track limits on this guy at 5. Break a few more feet before turning in... slowest turn on track. In my humble opinion, if continued, the rumble strips will beat the hell out of car. Mechanical failure will come sooner or later. Also, t 12 warm up a bit wide?

Pretty much the same line I ran 3 years ago in my Camaro. I have to ask if lap 2 was also a warmup lap? Haha. I kept screaming for you to go faster!

We agree!

Great video showing the line. It's unfortunate the audio is completely butchered. You're driving my exact same car, I would've loved to hear that big V8 growl and live vicariously through this!

Life's too short, go register for a HPDE near you and experience it for yourself!

I know you are just showing this but 3:22 for a lap? I think my first time out I was well under this.

Sandy Jenkins... technique and fun, not lap times, is what hpde is about...

Rob Schermerhorn yeah I sort of get that. I mean before we go on track some of us pile into the back of Ford f150s. It's all about seeing track lines. This a bit faster I guess.
