Push-ups and Pull-ups is where my calisthenics journey started. Pull-ups have remained my main focus, and I’ve learnt to love them. I previously did 30 pull-ups with hanging rest 5 months ago, and I’m on a mission to repeat or better that performance while I’m still 59 years old.
I will try to reply to every comment, so please let me know how you get on and if you find this video useful. I have tried to keep it simple.

@@funwithcalisthenics Your really making good progress now, especially for your age! Its time to now do it clean and cut out the butterfly pull ups, with the momentum back generating at the bottom, your a intermediate theres no need to be doing it at this point now, always keep tension in the back, your back should remain staight from top to bottom, ABSOLUTELT RIGID it will look alot cleaner, and less amauterish, again good work though, those pull ups still aint awfull though far from it!

@@muhammadnaeem4306 when I started out at/around age 63 I couldn’t do one but I stuck with trying to do one 5 days a week and it eventually turned to two then three and so on. But what’s much harder to do is dead hangs. I go 2 minutes with each dead hang and it is PAINFUL, lol. It took me about a year and a half to be able to reach 2 minutes.

I recently came across a KZbin channel of a guy who can do 100+ pull-ups. His technique is to do every rep with a hanging rest, to avoid lactic acid development in the muscles. And the way he trains is also using a method that avoids lactic acid development. Essentially, he uses rubber bands with résistance strong enough to allow for 25 pull-ups without almost any fatigue (you should feel you can do maybe 5-7 more). He adds one rep every day, or whenever he feels he can do it without more fatigue. He goes up to 50 reps, and then takes next rubber band with less resistance which still allows to do 25 reps without much fatigue. He repeats the whole process up to 50 reps. And so on until he can do 50 reps without rubber bands. Hanging rest after every rep is very important. Then he starts again with rubber bands from 50 to 100. This is a Russian guy, so his channel is in Russian. Not sure if you’ve seen anything like this in English, especially the technique. If not, maybe you could try something like this to get you above 30 reps. For example, start with the rubber band to get you to 15 with just a tiny fatigue. Go to 30 by adding one rep every day slowly building up your endurance. And so on until you do it without rubber bands. Or even try 25-50 technique, instead, if you have the patience to do that many. Apparently the key is to trains your central nervous system more than the muscles. And rubber bands allow you to do that. Keep in mind that those guys with mega reps usually look like marathon runners, very thin arms, not bulky like your typical street workout guys. So if you want some bulk, this training might not be the right one.

Awesome! In most of the 1st 19 pullups yr arms aren’t fully stretched when lowering yourself so some would not count those as strict pullups. Also I feel the no of strict pullups one can do non stop ( without moments of resting while hanging on the bar) is the most accurate number. Anyway for your age it’s mind blowing!👏💪
