It‘s a nice part but difficult to install. You did it wrong. I played around with it, too, for a while until I figured it out. What you have to do is just leave the original trim ring on and push the new one over it. No padding, though… if you opt for the bolder ring, you opt for life since you just can‘t avoid scratching the original ring. You have to push it over until it klicks into place and then loosen the original ring a tiny bit until the new ring sits seamless with the light housing. Then try and tighthen the original ring again. You will however keep the little opening at the bottom BUT the new ring will sit tight. Don‘t tighten the screw too much… it will give in fast and you‘ll destroy the head.

I might circle back and give it a run. I tried doing kind of how you mention but was never able to get it to fit right. Never hurts to try again. Thanks for the feedback and watching.

Yeah, it‘s kind of difficult to do. Takes some muscle… You just have to force it over the original.

you might be able to keep the old ring from being scratched up if you spray it first with something like Plasti Dip

Thanks for the video on the headlight bezels. I wanna do this on mine. I’ve ordered two sets and return them due to really bad chrome finish. Where did you get yours?

Hey, I just installed the Harley-Davidson brand visors just like in your video. The passing lights had a rubber piece in them for a seal but the main headlight visor did not. Following the directions, it was just a loosen the original headlight ring and put the new visor over it, tighten down the original ring and then close the gap. Everything came out fine but just curious, how wide is your gap on the main visor at the bottom? Mine seems to be between 1/16 and 1/8 of an inch. Seems like it won't close anymore and every picture I see online shows a gap. Thanks.

Hi Ted, thanks for your support. Since i did mine without leaving the original one on, I ended up with no gap. Had I left it on, my gap would have been around 1/8 to 1/4. It was a decent gap for me

My brother, I have a 2023 RK special, May i ask where did you get that light bar and would it fit on my model? Thanks!

Hi Bon, if you're talking about the passing lights, those were standard on the 07 RK Classic. I did buy some for a 95 Fatboy I had. Got those through jpcycles. Or check out Dennis Kirk.

Still watching the video. Was gonna reMove my ring also. I don’t have the clip for the inner ring and my whole assembly vibrates and it’s loud. I drives me crazy.

How is this a twin cam is not a cvo or screaming eagle 110? Please educate me?
@Mikeityourself Жыл бұрын
I wish it was a CVO, just your normal 96. Only thing I see that was done before me buying it was a tune using an old SE tuner, my guess is they did that after they put the Slip-ons. If anything I might take this to a stage II but wont be anytime soon though. Thanks for watching. Yep, im an SD guy.

You know I tried the same thing, without realizing it goes over original bezel which is totally nuts, what’s the point. Couldn’t they design a bezel with the clip and screw attachment? Not talking extreme engineering here.

I'm with you, makes no sense and could easily be done. Thanks for watching

I have to admit , i laughed when you pulled it off. Crap , that didn't work !! But your idea of the foam to fill the gap was ideal , just had to figure out the right thickness. They definately look good Mike

Thanks Moe; persistence pays right? lol. Now im just putting some time on them to see if it becomes an issue after being in the elements for some time, I hope "weather stripping" lives up to its name.
