Those of us who play pool love these road hustler stories. We've all fantasized about being road players. CJ Wiley has some great road stories. He says the same thing. Internet, cell phones etc have killed off being an old school road player.

I got a story for you, Scott... 1996, we’re in Des Moines looking to play this young straight shooter, Scott Frost.. We had to wait for 10 days just for him to show up at the pool hall, and we didn’t dare walk in till he was there.. Just keep looking for his SUV with the personalized plate that said “1 Pckt,” or something similar to that.. lol.. My horse, who happened to be the son of Cooney’s long time road partner, won a few sets playing 9-ball, then they started playing hole.. Long story, short, my guy won about 5 grand, but it wasn’t easy.. The kid could play, Scott, I mean, and it seemed he was turning into a champion during the match.. His stakehorse asked for 10-8, and we could win the pool hall, but I declined, and got out of there before he decide to keep playing with 9-8.. That took patience, considering the lack of things to do in Drs Moines.. lol..
