The infrastructures look awesome and the staff seems highly professional. The only "bad" thing is that it gives the idea of tennis being an elitist sport because, let's be honest, you got it for free but it's not for everyone's wallet.

Hi Felix, the facilities at the academy look awesome. The only slight critisism I have not of the academy but Patrick himself, is having watched Patricks coaching videos on KZbin, I find his biomechanical and technical knowledge to be a little sketchy at times especially on the serve. And a few other top tennis KZbinrs who I respect have hinted at the same especially given Patricks stature. But in terms of the facility and the quality that you get there, it looks second to none👍

I mean he coached Serena Williams for ages and she has the best serve maybe ever for a woman XD and top players are going to train with him everyday. That would be like saying Mourinho has problems with managing players cuz other football youtubers say so. Ridiculous ngl.

@@jzgame1 I agree he coached Serena but he didn't teach her the mechanics of the serve as she already had them when she started working with him. He just tweaked her game and it was more strategy and preparation with Patrick. Serena's awesome serve was taught to her most likely by Rick Macci in her early years who's one of the best technical and development coaches on the planet. There's only 3 people who I really trust on teaching the serve and that's Rick Macci, Jeff Salzenstein and Dr Mark Kovacs who is probably the leader of the pack on the technical side of the game.

@@jzgame1 but I have to clarify that I'm not saying Patrick is a bad coach, far from it. I'm just saying that I wasn't impressed with some of his videos on the serve and other strokes. He's no doubt one of the top coaches in the world👍

Fiu, high temperatures there as well. Where I'm living currently it's always over 37-39 ° in this season of the year, so I always try to get up very early to be able to train in optimum conditions (at least don't die on the road haha). See you in the next videos crack!!

Hi Felix, if you felt that France was hot then avoid playing in India in the summer. Here the temperature goes up to 47° C on a normal summer day 😭 (P.S - I am an Indian myself and still can’t survive it so you can tell that the heat is really bad)

not really.. it does go upto 47C yes, but it also depends hugely on the humidity of the area. I am an Indian too, but I have visited Taiwan for 6 months.. Taiwan is super humid that when I was there, even the 30C climate in there felt like 43C climate in India.. good thing about India is that India is less humid.. you dont feel sweaty even if you are in a 43C temperature unless you workout or something. But, I remember Taiwan getting to 40C few days and it was unbearable because of the humidity.. You'd feel like you took a shower of sweat even when you did nothing.

The weather in Taiwan must be much more humid because of it being surrounded by water from all sides but here we have more of sun and some humidity.

That depends. They have courses for all ages and levels. With the elite programme you have to talk to them beforehand to see what is possible and if they accept you. If you are not an elite player then they will put you together with players of similar standard.

Interesting video but....a clear conflict of interest here since you got your week offered and I really doubt that the elite programm "all inclusive" only cost 1570 euros up to 2650 euros per week. If it is the case, it's a bargain! but I really doubt it. On the other hand, some benchmarking would be nice...a price tag does not mean anything if it's not compared to other products on the market: the Nadal academy or the Bruguera academy for instance...

I'd love to check out more academies...however the challenge is that I have only a limited amount of time in between tournaments - hence it makes more sense to go where I know it's good and where I know the quality of the players and coaches. You are right - the elite programme is bespoke and would cost more.

I have 3 ITF Pro points which give me a ranking of around 1100 in the ITF Pro Point Leaderboards. These points are important as they enable me to get on top of all the unranked player of the $15k and $25k tournaments. Once I win a match in the main draw of these events I will get my first ATP point. ;-) Then I'm ranked around 2200 in the world.

I really love it there and if invited would go anytime again. I don't know a lot about other academies but they really support me there. I disclosed that I got invited but paid for flights and for one week of the the hotel myself. I agree that it's a close call to make a video like this - I can see that it is difficult to keep it "neutral". I decided to go ahead with this because - on balance - I thought that I can provide enough insight for it be a justified posting. I will take your feedback into account when looking at new things.
