Dave, I'm 99% sure cutting down onto the apron on the tri-oval is okay, BUT, it is up to you to safely rejoin the banked surface. Other cars have no obligation to let you back in, so there is a chance you can get boxed out of the banking.

Its legal for all ovals except the super speedways Daytona and Dega. For some ovals (Kansas is one of them iirc) you always want to be on the apron for the tri oval to shave some time off your lap

Dave! First off I would like to say that I have been a viewer for a long time and I hail from Michigan! Secondly I would like to say that seeing you do oval is awesome, some races are just absolute caution fest’s, but here and there you get some fantastic prolonged racing! Also as a long time oval racer, not great by any means, but if you’re willing to accept a bit of unsolicited advice, these cars are VERY sensitive to dirty air. If you’re entering a corner directly behind another car, your car will feel very “tight”. Try to offset your car a little through the corner! Love ya man!

WoW, I finally heard a worse singer than me. I laughed the through the whole song. Cheers to you ! I do enjoy watching you race and seeing the racing lines you take. As a spotter maybe I could see where you were gaining and giving up some time. All in all it was very enjoyable. Our national anthem should be sung by you at all NASCAR races and let's not forget " God Save the King " for the premier British races.

comments as I watch: 1. That first caution was bad timing for you. You were the fastest the preceding lap I think and had a pretty good run 2. That Jordan livery is pretty 3. Love Dave being the Brit in chat saying he soiled himself. 4. Good race with the top 7 cars all being fairly level. I think the door banging after the second restart spread the field a bit and there wasn't enough difference in pace to run away or close the gaps so everything sort of stayed static.

sorry if i see this again mr shaky shaky - try change wheel setting and make it a constant move stearing - u micro stear on direction and then u counter stear ALL THE TIME - that way u will never be fast - try to make it a smooth moving and focus on ur car looking like it is on train tracks - also makes the other drivers nervous if u shake like that all the time - i would be nervous - i will show u ;D

I am back on iracing waiting for 2025 season 1 cannot wait to start it again glad to back after 10 months off: you do not have to be that close to the wall unless your planning to do a Ross Christian + if your doing side drifting you have to do it just right otherwise you will hiting that American and he willl not be happy i should know i have done those two things my self i have learned the hard way in oval now i have been doing oval racing since NASCAR 06: total team control good game but 07 was better until 2018 i signed up for iracing. But my love for sim racing was 2003 with NASCAR Racing 3 no idea what i was playing but it was fun as a 9 year old british lad playing as bobby labonte and hello from a fellow birt

Ironically if you were to actually race NASCAR that’s where you’d start. So you made the right choice!!! Once you find a balance in ARCA then you move to truck then Xfinity then cup! Arca gets easier once you understand the cars. Xfinity and arca are similar feels. Cup and truck are different. Hope that helps!!

@@SilverMainCS you could try super modified asphalt, but that would be harder than ARCA. ARCA is 100% tire conservation since there are no cautions

Street stock races some larger ovals, usually Charlotte, which is a mini Daytona. The Pickup Cup uses the legacy nascar truck and usually runs at some good tracks. It’s not official (won’t hurt your ir) but usually has good participation. Beyond those series, I’d suggest the c-class Maconi trucks

Hey Dave, just a friend from across the pond. I'm no expert, but i I noticed you are breaking going into turn. There is no need. You want to keep your momentum. Maybe a little brake close to apex to help rotate, if needed.

Alternative perspective, Dave was right to brake. Diving in without braking until you get to the apex is known as overdriving the corner and will burn your tires real quick. There are absolutely times where you want to do that, usually to do the classic Nascar slidejob, but as your normal line around the track it is not advised.
