To get boost, you subtract atmospheric pressure from manifold pressure. Both are logged by the app. Atmospheric pressure can vary from 14 to 15 PSI (ish) depending on location and conditions. "Boost" just means "extra pressure above normal air".

Yes thats correct, I learned that further along. In short (if i got it right) "boost is usually measured via gauge pressure. So to get boost pressure from the MAP(absolute pressure) you would then use, MAP subtracted with atmospheric pressure (depends on see level) = boost.

@@brzser8387 Yuppers. It might be a bit of an issue for folks in places like Colorado Springs if they just subtracted 1 atm! Otherwise great vid :)

Are you in Florida by chance? I know James is and I was hoping to one day have him tune mine in person. Really enjoyed your series here on these 400hp supporting mods. I'm looking to go turbo some time this year. I'm leaning towards the AVO kit as i like that it's a low mount .. the SBD kit is really tempting due to cost.. but i'm afraid of the heat build up with the top mount in front of the fans since i live in FL where it gets very hot in the summers.

Sorry to say, I'm from California haha. And yeah, definitely go tune with him in person, heard a lot of good feedback with james and might even be faster (or better) than e tuning. I've driven the car during our summer heat (110F~), and it wasn't a problem, at least for me. I do have an oil cooler that helps keep temps at bay. But living in florida, yes, definitely cooling might be an issue since i heard its pretty humid in there. I don't have any experience with AVO kit, but I've glanced on it a lot before, some say its laggy (similar to ptunning) so just keep that in mind as well. In my opinion, the cooler the engine the happier it probably is, which these turbo kits might be good for. If going with the SBD kit tho, it could run "ok" with your heat situation. But i suggest doing all you can to keep engine bay temps low. I would probably do the following: vented hood, fabricate cold air intake, oil cooler, bigger intercooler (from jdl) and ceramic coating all hot parts, run e85. The perks of the sbd kit is the affordable cost which lets you spend the rest on supporting mods to keep your car happy.

How much did this whole build cost exactly? Not including the cost of the car. Thanks

So far everything, around $7200, still need suspension mods and stuff. Also, I bought everything used, if new it would have been around $14,000. What also helps is I've done all of the labor in parts install.

Hey man, nice video. Was looking for a link to where you purchased that OBD adaptor, because my wires might be having a problem also. And I don't want to keep damaging it by plugging in and out from it

Thanks for reminding me,haha. I'll be adding the link on the description. But here it is: www.amzn.com/B07K472KCM Any of these kinds should work. I like the 90 degree bends because for me it helps me avoid hitting it with my leg and is flushed.

@@K3Y666 ill try to include that in my next video. Only thing is I'm scared to launch it too many times, since these cars have a glass transmission, haha.

@@brzser8387 ah makes sense yes, I'm also worried about it. I just want a decent 300Hp here In regards to HRI tuning, I visited their website, but can't seem to find the guys email? Would love to ask some questions though. You can provide?

@@K3Y666 ask away, tho I'm not a tuning expert, but ill try my best to answer them 👍. Hri's email is: support@hrituning.com. 300 whp is a sweet spot of power and reliability, just make sure you have all the supporting mods in place and just treat the car well. You should be ok!

Out of curiosity why did you go with HRI over delicous tuning which is local to you just out in San Diego?
@brzser83875 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely did consider delicious tuning at first. The main turning point was that HRI tunes are "unlocked". This means that I'm able to freely read and edit my tunes if I wanted to. Delicious tuning and other tuners don't do this because tunes can basically get passed around. This is more because of personal use, since I want to be able to compare a stock tune vs a turbo tune, just to learn a little about tuning. Other than that, I think the quality of tunes from other tuners should give great results as well.
