1) Yes 2) No (sadly). Gravity is an amazing product. But commercial success is a difficult beast. Lots of competition to sway the unwise consumer. Add in outside investors to persuade "financial" success. Lucid the company and its executives will ultimately be "persuaded" to sell to a buyer. Unfortunately, the buyer will be a larger legacy auto manufacturer. Fingers crossed it won't be US-based because Lucid will be mid-level-managed into oblivion. Even JP-based will be a problem because Lucid will be project-managed into oblivion. Lucid's genius has a long road ahead. Best products don't always win.

As an owner of several EV’s over many years, I love my 2024 Lucid Air Pure. It is a wonderful driving sports sedan…and very fast! I also love the excitement and enthusiasm of the whole Lucid team. It reminds me of the feeling around Tesla in the early years when I purchased a Model S. I think Lucid is definitely Tesla 2.0 in terms of innovation and positive owner energy. Yes, they still need to prove they are a viable company in the long term but the Gravity appears positioned to be an exciting car in the luxury SUV segment. I will also look forward to a review of the 2025 Air. Thanks for a great and detailed review!

Far too many people don't understand what designers do or how they think. And by designer I mean industrial design. When you listen to Mr. Jenkins you can begin to understand the level of complex thought and consideration that goes into something like the Gravity. Industrial designers are special people and the world is a much better place becasue of them. I also love the fact that Jenkins is a grad of the Art Center College in Pasadena. He and some of his fellow grads like Chip Foose, J Mays, Chris Bangle have contributed so much to automotive design.

Saw one and it actuality it’s quite aggressive up front for a suv and wow what an inside all the space. Closer you get to it the less of a minivan it looks and if they get 440 miles with quick charging on the NACS network finally something with descent range. Love that light green with 1,000 horsepower means fast. Finally a nice suv from Lucid.

I like the direction Lucid went with Gravity. I hope the ~120kw pack is big enough for world leading highway range and it has interior room like an Air on steroids. The comments from Derek and Eric are encouraging for Lucid’s future. The Gravity really needs to undisputed SUV range king by a wide margin over the competition. If it has the loads of extra space, utility and functionality Eric talked up, they will sell. It's going to be more expensive than the alternatives, so it needs to be better in all the fundamentals to succeed. He mentioned interior space comparable to an Escalade, I'm very curious to see and sit in one. This is a segment Lucid absolutely needs to be in. I'm looking forward to Kyle range testing one of these in the real world.

The Y Is not a competitor to the Gravity. Like he says multiple times they are going after the Escalade and similar large SUV market. Lifting the Model 3 and making the Y is what gives Tesla the highest margins of any automotive manufacturer.

Loved, loved, loved the video. Quite informative and yet torturous in two ways: 1) I want a Gravity so bad and everytime I see videos of it, it's like putting ice cream in front of me while I drink a glass of water or eat brocolli, 2) I kept waiting to see the interior and hear more about the interior. I'm ready to buy one TODAY!!! The comments about the need for space and utility? That's me. I've got bikes and outdoor gear to carry. And then there's three little granddaughter (w/o food or drink) to carry around. I'm excitedly waiting for pre-orders to open.

Wow, the Lucid Gravity will be a hot selling car, they designed it right for the intended market. Hopefully they designed it correctly to be manufacturable and can produce it with quality as well. Very visionary and intense thought-out car. Lucid IMO, has the world's best car design team right now of all car manufacturers and with the recent $1.5 billion dollars of Saudi investment money, this should be enough to break Lucid into the big time to make it a viable company.

I don't like that minivans died out in popularity in America. The sliding door is a big advantage for unloading people and things in a parked space. With an all-electric powertrain like Lucid has, you could get excellent range and performance. Toyota makes a great hybrid minivan but it's not plug-in like their Prius, so you can't recharge it at home and you still have to buy gas for short trips around town.

Minivans are fantastic.. but the thing is, they're also really heavy. The Vanagons and K-Car-based Caravan are distant memories, and now every minivan is basically maxing out the payload on the platforms on which they're constructed. Those two huge openings for sliding doors on both sides mean more reinforcement for roof strength. This means we need some heavy duty EV platforms on which to build an EV minivan. VW is having a ton of issues making what's a relatively small (by modern standards) minivan for the North American market. The Japanese brands are all still building tiny EV platforms. Toyota's large vehicle hybrids are even still mostly weak hybrids. They're having trouble scaling their small vehicle tech up to American-sized large family vehicles. Tesla, Lucid, Rivian, and even Hyundai/KIA are moving in the large direction faster than anyone because they're not afraid to start from scratch and scale up signficantly.

Come on EV manufacturers let's get these 75 to 100 plus kw batteries really usable. I'll spend extra if it can benefit me and ultimately everyone. I like what Lucid is working towards. Amazing EV, I want it to debut by September. 1. I want it to start under 80k because the R1S starts at $75,900. 2. Standard features 3. A good standard range battery (LFP). This car will get more attention because it is a BEAUTIFUL SUV which competes with Escalade IQ, R1S, EV9, IONIQ 9, EX90, MODEL X, EQS, etc. They better have good standard features unlike the Air which didn't come with a glass canopy as standard lol.

Kyle, thanks for the review. Once you get your hands on a testable unit, can you please review a heads-up display? I understand Gravity (contrary to Air) will finally have one. It's my absolute must, can forgive a lot of stuff to a car for a great HUD (full color, augmented reality, ideally showing CarPlay / Android Auto maps as well). For this reason, Tesla / Lucid were never an option for me (drive EQS now), and hopefully this changes with Gravity.

I saw one in person at Lucid studio in Plano (TX) and it looks wayyy better in person than in the initial reveal. Has a great squat, sporty presence. But this spec in the video looks fantastic, would definitely opt for stealth trim and that green is a good color choice (wish lucid had some more variation in color choices)

Still feels like a Hyundai. I wish them luck but LUCID is notorious for complexity and not being able to remove it. Without the Saudis, they would be Fisker, dead. Hopefully they survive. The world would be boring if it were only teslas. LUCIDs biggest problem is autonomy. Nothing says luxury if there is no autonomous decision. LUCID will die if they don’t have a driverless solution.

For me it is the coolest ev SUV ever. Only desing issue I can see is both brake calipers facing to the back. That can disturb the stability of vehicle on heavy braking.

I love everything they have done, BUT Unless they price it like a Minivan $50-$60k it will get some sales but nothing to save the company. They will then be like Rivian waiting for their compact to save them in 2 years time. Top spec Honda Odyssey is $46K & lease at $570. This is NOT going to pull Large SUV gas V8 owners into this segment or pull mid size $30-40k gas SUV's up to $80k-$115K. It's not happening regardless of how good the Tech is and the looks. It will be nice but too expensive. Like the Air Grand Touring you will pick up a used Gravity for $50-$70k in 2 years. If you want to over pay by $20k -$55K this will be for you. Lucid don't care if you lose money that fast, All cars depreciate, But when its initially over priced you setting yourself up for a lot more deprecation, Sadly These cars are not being designed and priced for the average consumer.
