You are absolutely correct. We had a bit of editing issues and that footage did not get included. 11:50 is about the shot you get to see it. :( There will be more footage of this vehicle in the future though, so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!

@@BorellaFamilyAdventures Sadly the owner of this vehicle took a job quite a distance away, so we have not been able to schedule any further upgrades. Though I am sure it will happen. Stay tuned however as there might just be something coming up that falls into this same build style. :)

cool video. I have been toying with the idea of a 3rd gen explorer for overlanding, but the independent rear suspension has made me nervous to pull the trigger. Thanks for putting some light on the suspension options and installation.

Honestly, if you don't currently own one, I don't think it is a platform I would choose. There are just not a lot of options for it. We are going to have to custom fabricate a lot of the stuff we are going to use on it in the future episodes. There are many better options for a platform. I mean unless you like the challenge! ;)

This kit fits 2002-2010 Ford Explorer 2WD & 4WD & 2007-2010 Sport-Trac and 2002-2010 Mercury Mountaineer 2WD& 4WD - Truxxx Front and Rear Lift Kit , Coilover Suspension As for the control arms, they are not 100% needed, but you may run into alignment issues as well as you may over stress your upper ball joints. Also, I just seen there is a 40% off code for the kit. Follow the link in the description and use truxxx40. (Your mileage may vary. I just happened to notice it. They are not a sponsor.)

Because of the geometry of the suspension, if you don't change the upper control arms, you will not be able to align the front end correctly. (There MIGHT be other options, but in our research, this is what the best path was.) Upon having this particular truck aligned, it was able to be put in perfect spec with no additional parts needed from the alignment shop. Sadly this truck was totaled in an accident and will not be returning to the channel. :( The owner is fine and has since purchased a Subaru (Outback I think.) I had considered purchasing my own Explorer to "play" with, but my current project schedule (and lack of funding LOL!) has not allowed it. But I appreciate you watching.

Greetings! My 2010 ford explorer is showing rsc service alarm.. can you please tell me what could be the issue ? And how can i fix this.. thank you

Ahh, the old Roll Stability Control. There are a handful of things that could cause this. Chances are it is a bad wheel speed sensor. If you need to TEMPORARILY turn off the alarm, you can press and hold the traction control button for about 10 seconds or so. The light should turn solid and the alarm will stop. You need to hook up a scan tool (with OEM options) and see what codes you have.

Can you tell us if the owner had any feedback on the lift kit.....how does the drivability compare to stock in terms of every day daily driving. Any issues with suspension codes, errors lights on the dash/ cluster?.

Drivability in the beginning was terribly dangerous. But once it went the alignment shop (call and check before you install the kit as our local shop had a 5 day wait to get in!) it was perfect. The truck was able to be aligned to spec with no additional parts (ie alignment bolts.) The lift caused no check engine lights. We did not change the tire size, so it also did not affect the speedometer. One thing that was on the list to do (this vehicle has since been totaled, so there is no longer a todo list) was to do longer brake hoses to the front wheels. The stock ones we "OK" but I did not like them being the way they were. It should be noted that any time you modify a vehicle, it will be different in a daily driving situation. Lifted/lowered vehicles have to be driven differently, however it will eventually become the norm to you. The lifting of this vehicle did not cause the owner any distress. However, a careless driver sure did. ;) Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!

The V6 in these are a very capable motor. There would be no way for me to tell you that it will be just fine and make it through every possible scenario, but it will do very well for you.

I have a 2009 Ford Explorer 4x4 and I’m looking to make it a more capable off road vehicle. Do you have any recommendations on what I should buy? I’ve been stuck for a while on what I should purchace

"Do you have any recommendations on what I should buy?" A Toyota 4 Runner or a Jeep Wrangler. LOL! It just seems like that is what they make EVERY part for. I know, that is not what you were actually asking. ;) The Explorer is a tough one. The parts we used on this were the only ones we could find to do any sort of lift. The Explorer is a very capable vehicle as long as you are not looking for extreme capability. I have nothing bad to say about the quality of the parts used. The BTF Fabrication Upper Control Arms were not cheap, but they are incredible quality and not hard to put on. I feel for you though. I have owned many "unicorn" vehicles through the years that I absolutely loved and I hated that there was nothing made for them. Links to the stuff we used on this one are in the description. I will check with the owner of this truck and see what size he is running. I don't think anything much bigger will fit. In fact, that truck will be here this weekend, I will do a lock to lock and see if I can make a determination on if anything bigger would fit. According to Truxxx, 30.5 - 32.00” tall tire ( 265/60R18) are commonly used on a stock style offset aftermarket wheel.

@georgiaCreekFishing Sorry for the long delay. The tires currently on the Explorer are 245/65R17 with ZERO clearance issues.

Honestly, I am walking away from home in most shots. LOL! I learned all of this when I was a toddler. My parents worked very hard at first teaching me to stand up against furniture, then eventually taking a step... oh, wait... do you mean auto repair? LOL! I have a particular set of skills that I acquired over many years. The full answer to all of this will be in a future video. ;)

That is hard to say. It took me an ENTIRE day, but it is always longer when filming. On a non-rusted out truck without filming it, maybe 5/6 hours
