@5:10 it’s not a hydrogen filling station. It was actually a battery hotswap station where you cold bring your Renault EV and have a fully charged battery in under 5 minutes. The company behind was Better Place but they went bankrupt.

First of all, congrats to you Björn and the wifey for the upcoming parenthood! Secondly, big thank you for the channel content that is providing me and other useful info that might lead to me buying my first EV in a close future. As suggestion for upcoming episodes for huge road trips like this i to sum up everything so that we can get a feel for the running costs and time aspect of driving EV on lengthy road trips... I heard that driving an EV on long road trips is 2-3 times as expensive and take twice as long compared to doing it in a diesel car... Would be great is you can prove this wrong :) Please keep in mind that not all will be driving Teslas ;)

I loved the series Bjorn! Good to see that roadtripping with a Model Y though Europe is no problem at all! I got one myself a few weeks ago, and love it! (ordered in May 2020) it also will get a tow hitch to tow my glider trailer, I hope that will not eat too much into the range. The cargo space makes it really suitable for camping, which I do several times during summer, towing my glider to Germany, and then camp on an airfield. The glidertrailer is not so heavy, about 800Kg, and is also quite streamlined with a rather narrow front profile. This combined with a max speed of about 90-100Km/h I hope will limit the loss in range. Btw, till now I get an efficiency of about 165 Wh/km, a lot better than that 225 Wh/km I see on your display.. Probably because we are not allowed to hammer it in the Netherlands. (100km/h on the highway during the day, 80Km/h on local roads, 50Km/h within city limits).

It is a very comfortable car to drive those long distances. Road work in Germany is a negative. More and more opportunities to charge in Germany is a positive.
@ModPhreak
@ModPhreak 2 жыл бұрын
Left lane huggers used to be a problem in Denmark, but not really anymore, just passing many cars while being at or just above the speed limit, which can be anything from 110 to 130. Yeah Germans are still the best though. The time where trucks are not are allowed to overtake is great and helps a lot in those hours. A bigger problem are the few cars feeling entitled to pressure you in and drive far above the speed limit and never respect safety distance to other car's. The Køge SC does have a roof, but it's like one car length to short, sadly only covers the second (rear) charge stall... come rain come sun you have to drive in the first (front) charge stall and it gets both all the time.

I agree on the ferry, unless you are going to eastern parts of Europe, from Berlin and east. It is just too expensive with the ferry and when driving electric, there are money to save by going the land route. I have given up on taking the ferry with those prices.:D Be careful on the storebælt bridge, they are doing average speed traps recording plate at two locations and calculating the speed, at least that what's I have heard.

Is that one of the Hydrogen test fuel stations that blew up? Hydrogen will never be main stream for domestic vehicles. Ships, trains and local electrical supply, occasional use stuff like festivals and events, yes I can see a use for it but hydrogen is far too expensive to produce and store safely to become main stream.

Be careful with Balkan microcountries in general. They are area of mos intensive "depopulation": "Goyi Go in EU ( history and current playground)" /find it on reddit/ Occasional tourist isn't likely to detect much of that on short trips.
