55 kWh: 11:05 77 kWh: 10:20 Yeah, the difference between the battery sizes doesn't matter as much as most people seem to think. If people were fine with ~60 kWh batteries, we could make about 20-30% more BEVs

I was rewatching the Ioniq 5 1000km challenge last night and you said you were going to do a 400V-800V comparison. Is that still coming? Would be very interested to see it... Anyway, this cheap little VW does it in a reasonable time too. Could work fine as a family car, if you only go on a longer trip once a year in summer and don't need to hammer it. But I guess a 1000+ km trip to the Alps in winter conditions will not be very nice.

Many vehicles often have the wrong tire pressures and thus falsify the consumption values. thank you and keep it up ;-)

It might be interesting to talk to the charger companies to try to understand if the chargers (when working, cough) are throttling the cars, or if the cars are throttling the chargers. Both sides know the exact model at the other end of the cable (handshaking) so could be slowing things down?
@Robcomesana
@Robcomesana 2 жыл бұрын
You are completely right. IMHO the chargers need to show some brief messages regarding issues: what is the bottle neck on this charge: battery temperature, shared power on the charger, cnnector and wiring temperature... Also, when the handshake goes wrong, it would be great to know what happened: Is it a software incompatibility?. Is there any problem in the connector?... The generic errors and lack of information are really a problem on these complex systems

I bought a pair (4) of "Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2" summer tyres for my car and the difference was night and day! These tyres are extremely quiet - almost no road noise. On top of having low rolling resistance and low wear. Unfortunately... now the engine noise is way more annoying. They might have some weak points but for my driving style they are perfect.
@Karjis
@Karjis 2 жыл бұрын
I had two Efficieny Grip series and it was really quiet as new but noise did get worse when first 1-2mm did wear out. After that it was actually quite noisy. Michelins seems to have more consistent noise during lifetime of a tyre at least with size my car uses (215/55R16).
@PenkoAngelov

@@Karjis Same size tyres, 10,000 km with them this year... No noticeable difference in noise levels but I haven't measured the wear depth.
@Karjis
@Karjis 2 жыл бұрын
@@PenkoAngelov I hope they improved that in 2nd version. The first one did start to sound harsh when older and wet grip went from great to well.. not good when thread did go around 3-4mm. I don’t mean aquaplaning but simply damp asphalt where It did not grip well anymore. I used two sets from new to point when it got slippery on wet (~3mm front/4mm back) as the price in that size is good. But then just had to think different options. I hope ”2” fixes those issues when being old. Both series were replaced around 30k km.
@PenkoAngelov
@PenkoAngelov 2 жыл бұрын
@@Karjis I personally have no experience with the first gen. So far no problems with aquaplaning (even at higher speeds) and around the corners. The car is a "not so large" combi/estate. My impressions are nearly the same as the results from independent tests.
@Karjis
@Karjis 2 жыл бұрын
@@PenkoAngelov I also had no issues with aquaplaning, just damp surface was the issue when tire was worn out. Somehow the rubber compound just felt slippery, especially when it was damp and cool weather. Basically when accelerating out from damp roundabouts the car had massive understeer if unleashing any "power" of french 134hp diesel with 4 speed auto gearbox.

@@danielurgei6596 Hi Daniel, I don't think Björn has time to give personal advice, but who knows. If I may give you mine... when you're talking about recharging stress and going 700 km fast, I think a diesel car is a better option for you, like a VW Tiguan TDI. You could drive 700 km without stopping and get quickly at your destination. If you prefer an EV I'd also recommend the Skoda Enjaq. Spacious, good price and a pretty quick if you look at Björn's chart at minute 25:05. Note: Don't be fooled by WLTP range. Your real life range will be 50 to 70 percent of that number. For daily use not a problem if you install a charger at home. For trips also not a problem if your family don't mind to stretch their legs every few hours for a 20 minute charge. Good luck.

I'm not convinced you have to subtract time when you have faulty chargers or queue at charging stations. Yes it's "not normal" we agree on that, but it's real life, and "normal" people in "normal" circumstances will face those problems, so I believe it's relevant. On the other way, yes it will give an advantage to Tesla's but it's part of the advantage of Tesla to have a very strong recharging network, so I believe it's normal they take advantage of it.

I also have problems with Tesla superchargers and subtract time there.

It would be fair comparing a range of possible times in a single car model. But it makes sense to remove it to compare times for different models. Otherwise, a benefit or obstruction is just the luck of the draw.
