This was a very complete and extensive view of the island, particularly the north shore. Had I been aware of such places to live as Lascanas, Seahorse Ranch and the Gardens when I first arrived here, I would probably be living in one of those places now. Loved the aerial shots...I've passed Seahorse Ranch many times but never knew how lovely it was , and the pool at Lascanas is remarkable and would have sold me as a residence. Excellent tour of the beaches and nearby towns with the pros and cons...loved the Limones waterfalls and horse trails leading to the falls, along with good advice on choosing a guide. Mr. T has done it again! Great job...a must for anyone thinking of touring the island.

New subscriber. I would like to request a video. Mata Grande is a mountain town which is one of the entry points to Pico Duarte. I was wondering if you could do a video of the journey to that mountain town. It is ecologically different from the rest of the country in that the climate resembles Northern cold nations. I haven't been there in 20 years and was curious how it looks now.

Hi James. Thanks for watching! Budget allowing, I would recommend you to hire horses with guides (which all the Cascada's do) as it can be quite a long hike for the kids otherwise. When at the waterfall, be careful not to jump into the waterhole, as it can be hard to see the rocks under the surface, and being colder fresh water, then it's a bit more exausting to swim in than salt water, so keep a good eye out on the children - otherwise you'll all love it! Make sure you bring your video camera/device as it's quite breath taking - Brgds Mr.T

Nice video. When you say, "I suggest you tip your Guide", how much of a tip is ok? Also, say we sit down at a street side Terrace for a beer - How much should we expect to pay for a beer (you mentioned a 26% Tax) and how much of a Tip?. Thanks for your advice... -CL

Hi Christian - thanks for watching! like in the case with the guide who spent more than an hour - if you tip him anything between RD250 and RD400 then he should be happy. If you sit down to just have a drink, then leaving a RD30-RD100 tip is about the norm. the rate to Dollars is about 46.8 - take care! Brgds Mr.T
