Road tripping across Australia to see as many friends and family as we can! www.sailingnandji.com/
In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we leave our humble Nandji home in the safe hands of the marina in Krabi, Thailand and head home to Australia for Christmas. This was a very exciting trip for us as Yosh had not been back to Australia since sailing out of the Gold Coast seaway back in July 2017 and Bonita only returning once over a year ago for health reasons. To be heading home for Christmas and seeing friends and family was truly an awesome experience for us.
We road trip across Australia, from land to sea and visit Yosh's family around the state of South Australia. We visit the remote Kangaroo island and then drive 900km across the state to visit Yosh's little bro and spend Christmas at his mums place. Yosh gets busy with some sheep work, helping out his little brother, we go fishing out in the boat and check out all the animals on Kangaroo island!
With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we have returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning as we plan to sail our Nandji girl around the world!!
We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World!

Awesome video seeing you with your tribe. My heart is sad that all that beautiful land suffered so much this year. My heart goes out to your family and all who were affected by the fires--especially the animals.

Considering just how hard the two of you have worked, and then to know what happened after your return to Nanji, it was great that you two were able to enjoy the holiday back in December with your beautiful families. All the best!

Dear Guys, So nice to see you on K.I. together with family. I love the "Classic Craft" - Port Adelaide. I took both the 5.0 and the 5.5Mtr from Caper Jervis to Penneshaw (then East and West)in the fog chasing Snapper and rib-slapping K.G. Whiting - with handheld GPS with my mum. Fantastic fishing, absolutely love the communities and was devastated by news of the fires. I like the fact you are a little closer to home. Cheers, God bless and stay safe. thank you both for taking me on some truly wonderful adventures. Pete

Bonita makes the world a more beautiful place. That water looked to have a lot of shark potential. Glad you kept out of the deep.

Makes an Aussie expat homesick for the Goldie. Glad you are both well and good luck in the coming months and the passage looming. Should be good with the extra hand on-board. Best wishes.
