Today on The Skid Factory, We're attending The Road Trip Drag Challenge in QLD.

Volvo 240GL was my first car in 1998, known as the 'love wagen', lost my virginity in it, 'drifted' it into a tree and reverse flicked it into a wall with 8 mates inside, hot boxed it and slept inside many times too drunk to drive. Parents wanted me to be safe...ideal choice then...haven't crashed since.

What a fantastic video! I think my favorite part even better than the great storytelling excellent footage and very cool cars was the tempo that you created for the whole film. Everybody in KZbin is trying to rush -( I'm sure the algorithm doesn't help there!) But the chill music and editing did a wonderful job of conveying the story of fun weekend with good mates in the summer heat. This is your best work yet, boys - excited to see what 2020 brings for you!

The only time I've been down a dragstrip was on a mates Kawasaki 750/4 (Not H2) and I managed very close to Pete's PB. I can't remember the ET (somewhere in the low 7s) but the max was right on 100. I was amazed he let me and I think he was amazed that I was stupid enough to give it all the beans. All these guys have terrific camaraderie and sense of humour, really great.

My mate was into Volvo. He had a T5. That thing felt like it was going 5 MPH when doing 30, it always felt slow. But when he hammered it, it would send. A 240 estate saved my wife's life, as she was in it during a fatal. The other party died, poor fella. I have a bit of respect for Volvos.

DSG Launch Control TC Off (push and hold), Sport gear mode, (sports suspension mode optional, helps weight transfer) hold brake, hold accelerator to the floor, revs should rise and stabilise, release brake :)

Got you well and truly covered on the tyres there. Mine are 16 years old 18x235 on my tt 300zx. Yes they still look good. But so hard that spinning everywhere is the name of the game. wooo Could only run a 13.5 on them. But switched to good rubber and did 12.7 straight away. The 16 year old tyres have got about 5000kms life left on them :)

That 1UZFE handled alot of boost and alot of abuse, gotta give it up for a stock engine. It makes good useable power and was strong enough to destroy the rear diff. I've never boosted a V8, plenty of 4 cylinders and a couple V6s in my life, but I did make 408 whp in a bone stock non-VTEC B18B1 Integra engine with an eBay turbo in my EJ8 Civic coupe.
