I just love you dimple dies. The first set I had were made out of Oak, wood that was flame treated. Turned both die halves in the lathe, then flame burned the shapes, light sanding then some oil to preserve the wood and allow some slipping when forming the sheet metal. Keep showing us the right way to modify our cars the right way.

My guess is that its a reference to the skid culture in Australia, where many of the best competitors run massive chargers at relatively low boost. Just my guess though.

@@thekodanator I wouldn't say relatively, 4-5 PSI of boost is objectively low boost considering the harrop charger in this car is alot less obnoxious looking and makes much higher boost

24:45 On a 700R4 the cable is more than a kick down, this cable brings line pressure up as throttle opening increases. It performs the same function as a vacuum modulator on a 350 or 400 trans..
@theskidfactory4 жыл бұрын
Bob Roberts As std that is indeed the role of the cable but the Hughes box is modified to allow constant 175psi line pressure, that is one of the ways the TH700 can survive in this application.
@bobroberts23714 жыл бұрын
Guys, thanks for the added info,I was addressing this so others would not leave the cable off in a stock / lightly modified trans. . . . .. With the line pressure at max all the time, this can lead to a bumpy light throttle / closed throttle shift as well as a harsh N - D - R engagement that gets tiresome on the street. I'd be tempted to use a non linear cam where the TV cable attaches and an override spring to allow full throttle once the TV cable is pulled tight. The goal would be to have low line pressure below say 20 % throttle then a rapid ramp up to full line pressure at say 40 % throttle. . . . This does require a bit of engineering and I'm betting Hughes doesn't want to risk outside systems causing a trans failure so they just pin LP to the max. Anyway, thanks for the always great vids.
