The 2011 Suzuki Kizashi is one of Roadflly's favorite cars. It's sporty, fun to drive and a great value. Join host Jessi Lang as she road tests and compares the Suzuki 4 door sedan to a host of competitors including Honda, Toyota, and Nissan.
The new Kizashi offers a very long list of features which its competitors can't touch. It's worth checking out.

I traveled out of state to buy this car in 2011. I got the Sport SLS in silver like the one Jessi is driving, but I added the AWD which was $4k more than Jessi's. I was very specific with the dealer that I would buy no other color so they got me one from another dealer a few hours away and I paid full price $29k. Suzuki pulled out shortly after and these were available for considerable discounts. So unfortunately I severely overpaid, but aside from that this car has been everything I wanted it to be. I get the many extra features of luxury sedans without the huge engine (and extra cost) that I could really care less about. I don't speed, and I'm not an aggressive driver. I drive calmly, enjoying my commute. The stock tires only lasted me 10k miles, but that was the only problem so far (it's been over 6 years, currently Oct 2017)

It's going to be my first "newer car"purchase as all I ever owned was cars prior to 96 . This kizashi is selling for $10,994 and it has 103,000 KMS (I'm Canadian ) I am really looking forward to it

I absolutely love this car.Its the first car, in a long time, that I have fallen in love with. I went to buy my wife a Suzuki SX4 AWD. And while there, she said, now thats your car. I didnt think about it. But after I looked at it and drove it. Holy this is a nice car. It one of those cars thats in the back of a dark room and nobody really pays attention to it. I have a 2007 G35, but I drive the kizashi more than my Infiniti. Its just that good. And I plan to trade my G35 for another kizashi.

After 20-happy-yrs with companycars,I bought this kizashi 6mnths ago...and its PERFECT!! 50-80.000km/pr-yr in everything fm audi-a8qutro/merc e280cdi/v6-volvoV70/bmw530/chryslVoyager/div.Ford and bought Suzuki because of 4x4 and a very good deal. Just pass 8000km now and for the first time I do NOT miss one of my last cars! Looking forward to winter and lots of snow...first time too...!! : ) And THX us-not many in my street have the same car! If popular in USA-2-3 yrs later its number one brand here.I`m used to people ask about my cars, but this one breaks any record. HIGHLY recommend Kizashi!!

It's the leather interior that I am smelling actually. 1 year now, still smells awesome. When I bought this car, I told myself it is perfect because it has options and luxuries galore without an expensive engine that will just get me in trouble for speeding, and I stand by my logic today. I enjoy casually strolling from point A to point B catching eyes and second glances. I debadged it for maximum effect.

@banstaman The CVT is going to stay for the entry level sedan which is fine for most peoples needs. The upcoming Turbo version will be getting a DSG. The turbo version will increase the engine output to about 270hp. There are more cars coming based on the Kizashi platform. By summer of 2011 a special Turbo edition will be available at select Suzuki dealers with the RoadRace Turbo kit installed. U.S. Suzuki sales are slow but now on the rise. World wide though Suzuki is doing very well.

I like the styling of the car and I like that a midsize sedan is actually *gasp* midsize. With the Accord and Sonata (and I'm sure the next gen Malibu, Passat, etc) now technically "full-size" midsize vehicles I feel like manufacturers are getting overly bloated. My only gripe with purchasing a Kizashi is I'm not sure where Suzuki will be in a few years, but with VW behind them maybe they can stick around. Although the Legacy also has AWD and better MPG and is a bit roomier...:)

@TeeDog63 Suzuki engines are known to take a while to break-in before you achieve the best gas mileage. After about 3000 miles you will notice a gradual increase with each tank. As the engine becomes fully broken-in with more mileage many people have been exceeding the rated MPG's for this car as well as other Suzuki's.

The version she's driving is the FWD Manual SLS "SPORT" (MSRP $24,699), that is rated at 21/29, not 20/29. She stated it incorrectly in this video review. Also, after having taken several trips in a friends Kizashi SLS manual, that rating is really under-estimated. 250 mile trips each way and we got 32 mpg on the way there and 32.5 on the way back, 3 people in the car with luggage. Around town he's been getting 23 to 24. That's with 8000 miles on the car so far.

Awd isn't everything unless you actually take it on offload rally tracks. I love Suzuki sx4 and this new kizashi, still remember the prototype being a wagon a few years back, anywho it's more on par with a civic si 2012, not accord. Si is lighter due to fwd rather than wad which add more weight, and it's 201 hp vs 185, same torque and same size engine and interior. Both awesome cars, test em both then decide

No need to question Suzuki's reliablity. They have been building solid quality vehicles for years. The ride and fuel economy on the other hand have been questionable and continue to be less than. For value and reliabilty Suzuki is hard to beat perhaps the new Kizashi is the car to break through into the comfort arena as well. I will test drive one soonest and see for myself.

@tom11zz884 Simply not true. I've owned a total of 5 Suzuki's now and each time I've gone to sell or trade-in I've gotten very good resale price, just as good as the Honda's I've owned. Sometimes "street price" ends up being very different than "book price" and Suzuki is a clear case of that. Also remember that Honda dealers want FULL RETAIL for a new Honda, but Suzuki dealers offer alot of incentives and negotiate. You can get a Suzi below list brand new! Quashes any resale loss.

I wouldn't say getting 20-29MPG is awesome, but its not that bad. As good as I've heard this car is, I doubt it will 'save' the brand. There just aren't enough dealers to compete. It wouldn't surprise me to hear Suzuki will pull out of the automotive market in the US in a few years. Unless...VW services the cars and/or sells them at their dealerships. Oh, and uses their 2.0T powerplant.

I just bought this car late last month. I was told by many that I would get good fuel mileage with it. Sadly, my fuel costs have nearly doubled from the 2007 Saturn Ion III I traded in on it. For the past few years Suzuki resale value has been going consistantly up and as a matter of fact, the past 2 years in a row Suzuki won "Biggest increase in resale values in the industry " by several automotive sources. Their SX4 led the way with best resale in its catagory in a tie with Honda, and SX4 also has the lowest cost of ownership. Kizashi will be right up there too

Eh, to me it seemed like Suzuki didn't put much effort into advertising their vehicles. When was the last time you have seen an advertisement by Suzuki? Also, their limited network of dealerships. I believe by the time when they were going out of business they only had roughly 500-600 dealerships in the United States. Now most of these dealerships were in the North to the Northeast. Where I live they're 2 local Suzuki Dealerships. One is out of business and the other is now a Mitsubishi/Hyundai Dealership but they still service Suzukis!

+scully When I was little, every day all day I would pass the Suzuki Dealership that is now out of business. We passed that dealership because it was the only way to work and school. Now at the age of 16, I look back to that and I still remember the lot filled with used cars and Suzukis. One of my favorite things about that dealership was that it was only run by a handful of people, like 4 or 5! People understood you and treated you as a real customer. It's rare now to find a dealership that would treat you like such. I remember my parents ALMOST got a Suzuki Grand Vitara. It was a 2013 and it was the Limited one. It was beautiful. White with tan leather. We backed out of it only because we didn't know what would happen after Suzuki leaves the United States. My second favorite vehicle is the Kizashi, followed by the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and finally the 2015 Lancer Ralliart. What cars do you like?
