My history teacher played us this song when we were talking about the WWII and that's how I fell in love with them. The best teacher ever, he still does that, and it's awesome. It's not only teaching but also showing students great music. Here in Poland we talk a lot about both Wars and this is very hard topic, but with something like a song it's a bit easier to remember things and understand it.

Grateful for this and your teacher! Memory can fade away that's why we can use certain tools like music in a classroom to better understand things that can be somewhat boring!! A bunch of my coworkers have a hard time with this. Oh well, you can't win them all. I used to play the song Stalingrad from Sabaton when I talked about that battle. I realy like it's mood and hardness! Another wretched moment in human history but a very important part of WWII. The history of Poland in WWII is one of the great tragedies of the last century. Never Forget. Do widzenia

As an example of how willing they are to go the extra mile: when they were building up to The Great War, they reached out to a Russian artist known as Radio Tapok or something like that and said "hey, we've got this song coming out about Russia in WWI. You wanna cover it in Russian and release it before we do?" And he did, and it was awesome. So naturally, when they played in Russia, they invited him onstage and played with him. Pretty epic.

@Handygamer3 жыл бұрын
IIRC, Radio Tapok had been producing Russian covers of their songs for a while back then. So ist wasn't just some coincidence they went with him. What I like best about this, is that it kinda shows how bands could use other artists, who cover their songs, to tap into new markets instead of copyright-striking them over and over again.
@skyshatter36333 жыл бұрын
They gave him "Attack of the dead man" before it was released so he can do a cover of it and release it before they do. And later he returned the favor by giving them rights to do the Defense of Moscow which was originally his song

Yes they do have more than a 100 in the touring party. A physio-therapist that looks after not just the band members but also everyone else in the crew. They also have their own catering crew traveling with them so they get the food they are used to, any time they want. According to Sabaton's Great Tour 2020 vlogs it takes about 4 hours to set everything up on stage, and you need to have a lot of people to get it done in that time. Start rigging at 8am, everything up and ready for first soundcheck around 12.30-1pm. Tank - While it probably would be very interesting for you to have a look at the 2020 vlogs (lots of pre-show, backstage footage and band members goofing around in general) you can not do that. There is at least one or more song mixed in as background music in every episode and you have not reacted to them yet. I'm sorry to be the one to give you bad news like this but that's the way it is. Cheers / B.

Imo, they're one of the best live bands around currently. The old Sabaton members that played the on other Wacken stage all play in the same band; Civil War, which is very similar to Sabaton, except they're not as big yet :P I recommend checking out Swedish Pagans next, it's the one hymn that everyone starts singing between every song, even the band. The encore "Schools Out" was played by the old and new bands together for a sight and sound that I'll remember forever - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Cooper_(band)

I was married to a Polish woman, metal head as well, but new to Sabaton, when I introduce them to her weeks before a concert of them near us, she really got to love them and their music ("Uprising" is another song about the Polish during WWII). The day of the concert, before it, I surprised her with a Meet and Greet with the band where she could thank them for what theyve done with their music and for honouring her country. Then, during the concert, we were close to the stage and Joakim got to see her (not hard task to track a polish woman in a latinamerican crowd) in the crowd during this song and waved at her during one of the chorus. Sabaton played at Knotfest the day before so they were in town, offered to step in. Only thing was that the singer Joakim had lost his voice but they powered through but after 3 songs he couldnt do it anymore so the guitarists stepped in and did the main vocals instead with Joakim running backstage to print out lyrics to tape on the stage by the guitarists. Joakim remained om stage though to help rile up the crowd. They gained a LOT of fans for that. Thats some showmanship.

Nice reaction and very considerate to also include the Polish performance. Cool fact about the Great War Choir: The members of the choir are dressed in the uniforms of each and every army that took part in that war. You can see the choir in action in the song ‘The Price Of A Mile’ of the same concert at Wacken Open Air 2019. I can highly recommend that one, goosebumps guaranteed! I noticed that it already popped up on your screen when 40:1 ended :-).

Another excellent reaction ... and thank you for making me aware of Sabaton (your Bismark reaction). From the same concert I would highly recommend their "non-set list" song ooo-OOO-ooo Swedish Pagans with guest Tina Guo

⭐Hey Tank. This was HUGE! and to top it off btw the 1st & 2nd songs my Dad rang me, so the video paused. Born 1930, now 90!, he's a huge WW2 geek. I told him about your video. He was so blown away. Knew of the story of course, but didn't realise that the numbers were 40:1. I'll try to send him the video. Just epic reaction. I think, besides me, there were lots of viewers crying. It's so moving. SABATON ROCKS. Thanks for the double treat Tank.👍🤗💖
