Don't worry - your German does not suck. The people working in Dresden are most likely Saxonians, so from the region there. They can have a really strong accent that is hard to understand even for native German speakers, so it sometimes is hard to communicate there with standard German.

@FlowNeffets7 ай бұрын
@@h3adban60r mostly it is a question of exposure & needing to speak English - there's a lot of people in Germany who are bad at it. Same goes for French. But that is an international problem: I know some French and Americans who had German lessons in school, but cannot communicate using it.

@@marcbrune7995 But then the people in catering would all have been at least 45 or older, to have had russian as first foreign language. my age group was the last to get the blue and red "pionier"-necktie, but also the first to start learning english instead of russian in 5th grade, and i'll be 45 this year. And in my experience it's hard to find someone from the "younger" generations (like 35 oder below) that doesn't understand at least so rudimentary bits of english.

As a woman who at 18 wanted to be a tour manager and was told that "there's no room for women on the road" (sorry to say, I gave up that idea back then because of that) I am seriously living vicariously through you and these vlogs. I think most artists prefer doing an actual soundcheck so they can have a few minutes to make sure everyone is on the same page, make sure there isn't any clear issues, and make sure the stage is set properly for them. Especially if they are working with local crews that might have missed something or working from a different stage size/set-up or equipment than other shows.
