He is using a different technique to get to those notes. Think of Barry Gibb from the Beegees but in a higher octave. Same technique, yet this guy gets shit on for some reason

I think its crazy how agressive he can sound while being very melodic and theatrical with his vocals at the same time. His vocal harmonies are very haunting and melodic. This type of singing isnt often heard in Metal music which makes KD very unique. Most people are used to Rob Halford esque vocals. KD has an even broader range but uses a different technique for his high notes. Same technique you would hear in R&B music like the Bee Gees.

and this is coming from a singer. A lot of what I would like to call "vocal elitists" will complain about KD because his high range is in falsetto instead of head tone. The difference between King Diamond and other falsetto singers is the fact that he mastered the technique to the point where he can almost mimic head tone. He has one of the most powerful falsetto's I've ever heard. I mean this is the closest you can get to an opera singer from a technical stand point. No need for ignorance

I have tried multiple times to like KD (because the guy himself is so awesome) but I find his vocals horribly laughable, no matter how technical you spin it to sound all informed and elitist. When people see the word ‘Satan’ they see only negative. Satan is not only bad, to me. It represents both sides of everything. I don’t believe in the Christian devil. “Christianity has both God and the devil. I believe there is neither of these two. I believe in the powers of the unknown, which I have experienced many times. I know that rituals work. I don’t do them often because you can easily misuse them. They will get back at you if you don’t respect them. Rituals can channel the forces that surround us all the time but I respect the powers and will not abuse them in any way. The Satanic Bible is 70 percent Philosophy and 30 percent magic. Satan is the power of the universe. Satan to me is the Powers of Darkness, not a man with horns. Some people think Satanism is what the Christian church portrays it to be. If you are as bad and as evil as you can be and you think that’s Satanism then you have become part of the Christian religion. That is Christian Satanism which is not what I am about at all.

​@@Amadeus-ms9lt With satanism you take responsibility for your life and actions. You don't look to a god to direct your life. You are the director. You don't ask a god to forgive you. You ask the person you wronged to forgive you. This is basic and by no means a complete definition.
