Great video! I love your enthusiasm in all of your reviews. I think that the Bronco with IFS, live valve shocks, and it’s overall design ethos will outperform the 392 in a high speed running situation. The latter might have a hp advantage, but it’s not built for high speed off-roading. That being said, I don’t think any full bodied production vehicle can beat a Wrangler in the rocks (tires, lift, etc being equal). Cheers!

"...but it’s not built for high speed off-roading." I have never seen any reason for "high speed off-roading" as I'm never in a hurry out on a trail (be it in the desert or up in the mountains)...I'm in no hurry to get anywhere. Why? My "slow" V6 gas Pentastar Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) is fine...couldn't ask for (or want) more. -- BR

@@billredding2000 My point exactly. High speed is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea (I prefer trails in 4lo), but it is a form of off-roading that some people prefer. I’m simply pointing out that Wranglers (or Gladiators in your case) are built with more technical wheeling in mind (and they excel at it), not dessert running. One is not better than the other, they’re just built for different styles of off-roading, and therefor suite different types of off-roaders. Cheers!

@@tacticalfrog0152 Yes, I agree...but please note that I do know (very well) the difference between a "desert-runner" focused 4x4 and a "rock-crawler" 4x4 as I was looking at a Jeep Gladiator Mojave vs. a Rubicon at the time...but could only afford ONE of them, not BOTH! Got the Rubicon as up here in Colorado, it's "more appropriate" (if you will). However, I must add that my Rubicon can move PLENTY fast in the desert, IF I wanted to do that -- and the frame/suspension is plenty strong (it's a Rubicon), but I don't, have zero interest in racing (aka: Baja-running) -- I mean why? What's the big hurry? -- so wouldn't have been happy with the Mojave. When I visit West Texas occasionally, my "slow" Rubicon is fine in the desert there" A nice leisurely drive out in the sticks (sand, really) is fine with me...no need for speeds or rushing it -- there's no fire I need to get to & put out. ;-) Just saying, but as you said, others differ. "Jeep Wave" -- BR P.S. I wasn't able to choose an "off-road focused/serious 4x4" mid-size SUV -- such as a Jeep Wrangler OR a Ford Bronco (even if they WERE out back then in April 2021 -- they weren't) because those two vehicles can't tow enough...so only a mid-size TRUCK would do. Couldn't get my Chevy Colorado ZR2 then (due to GM's chip-shortage) so went with "Plan B" and got the Gladiator instead. Worked out for the best.

@@billredding2000 If I was in the market for a midsize truck, I’d probably get a Gladiator Rubicon too. They are an extremely capable and versatile vehicle. Happy Jeeping! Cheers!

is a turbocharged engine really the best for that type of off roading? I'm not an engineer but Im guessing needing all that torque so much of the time requires the turbos to be spooled most of the time. I would love me some Braptor though!

ya know, I was harsh on it because I thought it was more expensive than it is. but looking at base spec AWD, it's about the same price as base spec AWD Mach-E and ID.4. But both of those are better. Kia EV6, Hyundai Ionic 5 are probably the standouts thought. overall the Toyota is too meh, and the fact that it doesn't have a glove box kinda takes it off the list for me

@@KN-jw7ts Absolutely. Put the 6.2L from 2014 back in it and I'd buy one tomorrow. I owned an eco-boost. Never again. V8 or full electric, no half measures.

so 80k for a bro dozer that fits done zero trails .......awesome lol who designed this thing a 6 year old cuz it is fugly
@Gltokensp062 жыл бұрын
I mean, it's a desert runner that can rock crawl. I don't think it was designed for tight trails...

Meanwhile all these pro drivers/journalists saying it’s absolutely awesome. But we appreciate your thoughts.
@Fastblack832 жыл бұрын
Zero trails? Most Jeeps put on tons, low offset wheels and have just as wide of a track, if not wider than this. They've already showed that it can rock crawl. I'm very impressed with the droop in the suspension. I'd love to see it on an RTI ramp, but this thing is awesome. Agree on the design, specifically the fenders. They can be changed though, and is what I would do.
