Beautiful car, with way more handling and power than the original had. That car was pre-built, and reassembled for the show. It took me almost 2 years working 8 hour days to build one. And i had help.

My thoughts exactly. I own a MkIV and it's taken me almost a hundred hours to get to a rolling chassis. Most of that car was already assembled, disassembled, and then re-assembled for the show. Case example: when they take the brakes out of the box, it's already assembled to the hub, which it isn't from FFR or Wilwood.

It's possible to do if the body has already been fitted & painted, if you have all the right tools including a lift, and if you have a coach there if you get stuck. I also noticed some sub-assemblies have been put together, for example, out of the box came a brake caliper, rotor, and spindle all in one piece. The kit does not come like that. Almost assuredly the car was partially mocked up, disassembled, and shipped.

yep..watch out for that fire wall and proper heat protection..it's for sure one of the most important thing when 'building' such car...it's even more important for closed cockpits..,it could ruin the entire pleasure of owning such a car and degrade precious wires and tubing..'heat control' is a must and has to be well thought of. ,ride comfort and sound if it's not just a track toy..!..dynamat/boom mat and other heat shields..extra manual extractor fans are not a luxury also ,especially when stuck in traffic...it will add reliability ,better performance and pleasure of driving..

I love the valve covers on this Windsor engine. Looks to be a new design, reminds me of a Cobra valve cover for an FE engine?
@s.hooper46832 жыл бұрын
I had to roll back the video to find out. I guess that is a Windsor as the intake manifold stops at the lead edge of the valve cover where on an FE, the intake is part of the valve cover flange. I've been building Fords for 40 years and I have never been able to get my head around the whole "stroking" for more cubic inches. From everything I've learned about building my Fords over the years, the more you bore it and stroke it out, the more reliability/durability you sacrifice. I guess the tech is there now but for my money, if you want big cubes, you start with big cubes. The 385 series engines are my usual "go to" when building the old 70's trucks while I head straight for the Cleveland when dealing with cars. Also, very few of my builds include automatics. There's nothing like rowing through the gears in a car/truck with a 400 (or so) horsepower 429 in it. Just my opinion.
