If you're looking to put down a turbo civic with a mom mobile. The BMW X3M or X5M are your perfect choices. As they come with a potent engine that is 1 flash tune away from triple digit horsepower gains with a couple supporting mods. No need to turbo a K series when you can wait three years and buy an X5M or X3M at a fraction of it's original MSRP. Turbo CRV might be a sleeper, but X3M/X5M won't kill you when you hit the gas. Anything with the basic suspension Honda throws on the CRV will rip the wheel out of your hands or just be unpredictable above 500hp.

might be some confusion here, these didnt actually come with a forward transfer case, he added that which is a common mod for cr-v's. originally they come with a drive shaft that's powered all the time and goes to a rear diff / transfer case that consists of dual hydrolic pumps that operate a clutch and send power to the rear diff. the way it works is normally its fwd, but when the front wheels spin more than the rear the pump which is driven by the front drive shaft overcomes the pump driven by the rear wheels and engages the clutch to send power to the rear. so its really only awd when the front tires are already spinning and is pretty laggy. so what he said is he added a front viscus coupler transfer case from another vehicle (sometimes a landrover) and eliminated the rear clutch pack by pinning it together. also would be intresting to do it on a 1st gen, because 1st gen had a double wishbone front instead of the macpherson of the 2ndgen

I want to be able to adjust fuel and timing tables.
@dtengineering1 Жыл бұрын
I think the handling issue is due to the way the power is transmitted to the rear axle. It will stay as a FWD until both front wheels are breaking traction. When there is a difference of shaft speed on either side of that viscous coupling, then the viscous fluid is chopped up making it solid and then drive is transferred to the read axle. This will cause a grip/spin feeling from the front axle as the rear axle cuts in and out.
@vinceod2440 Жыл бұрын
I wonder if there could be a way to make it rear bias 4wd
@dtengineering1 Жыл бұрын
@@vinceod2440 I wish there was. I own a 2003 CRV and it torque steers like a bastard. In the wet, if you are turning at an intersection and apply some throttle, the steering will pull left than right and can pull you into oncoming traffic. You can feel the drive being distributed left/right and when both front wheels start to spin together, drive gets sent to the rear and the steering settles down again. But then the drive is stopped from going rearward because the front axle has traction again, and then the process starts sgain. Very frustrating and dangerous.
