I passed my test this morning with four errors! If you guys are taking yours soon you got this, I stressed out so much and barely got any sleep and it really wasn't that bad. Just remember to always be looking around. Like, ALWAYS. even if the light has been red for 5 minutes and you have seen that NOBODY is around, when it turns green, look LEFT AND RIGHT as you go through. I put my hair in a ponytail to exaggerate my head movements. you got this!

For changing lanes, my dad taught us SMOG, Signal, Mirrors, Observe, Go. Put your signal on, look in all of your mirrors, look over your shoulder, then go! Hope this helps someone

Tevin Bennett I just passed my test in Stockton on Tuesday and I’d just say to practice your backing up skills but you do get 3 attempts so don’t stress too much. Remember to always look over your shoulder, check mirrors often, never roll on a stop sign and always look over your shoulder when turning on a bike lane.

Hey guys! So i just passed my road test today in south carolina. Failed the first time for not making a COMPLETE stop at stop signs. So let me share with you some tips that helped me pass: *check your state’s DMV website and look for the road test part. take note of the things they will be testing you on so you’ll know what to expect. *when changing lanes: signal -> look on rear and side mirror -> look ahead -> check over your shoulder (for blind spot) -> look ahead again -> change lanes *Do a complete stop on STOP signs. Make sure your mph is on zero. Count to three before proceeding even if there is no car is coming from the sides. * when turning, stay on the lane you’re turning to. For example, you’re on the right side and intend to turn to the right, keep you car on the rightmost lane. *always do left-right-left checks when passing through an intersection. *be aware of signs around you especially the speed limit on that road. My evaluator asked me the speed limit twice so make sure you know! *dont go too fast or too slow. They also deduct points if you’re too slow. Too fast means automatic fail. Thats why it’s important that you know the speed limit. *practice around your DMV area. Look for nearby intersections, school, construction area, or residential roads where they most probably will test you. Being familiar with nearby roads will also help with your confidence as you would know what to look forward to. *for 3 point turns: signal to pull the edge of the road-> do checks (mirrors, sides, over shoulder) ->signal to where ur turning -> turn when clear ->do checks again before reversing -> drive straight *parking on a hill. you only need to remember one thing: uphill with curb -> turn wheels AWAY from the curb, put on park, then emergency brake. Think CUP, CUP and AWAY! (Like up up and away. C for curb, and UP for uphill, just a thing i made to make me remember easily 😅). Everything else is TOWARD curb. *practice parallel parking on the DMV site designated for parallel parking. Do it before office hours, preferably early in the morning. *don’t think about what your evaluator is writing on his or her score sheet. It doesn’t mean that if he’s writing down something, that you made a mistake. They’re just simply taking note of what they score you on each part. And most of all, pray and call on the name of Jesus. It was raining HARD during my test but it still went well. And this is my way of thanking my Lord, by helping others because He helped me first. You can do this! All favor and blessings to you on your road test! ❤️

I passed my test !!!. Its embarassing to say but I'm 29 and put this off for 10 years about. when i was 17 i broke my back in 7 places in the passenger seat of a car, 8 months later as a passenger i flipped into a ditch, and a year after that as a passenger again got stopped by a 4 inch thick tree from going off of a cliff and dying. Needless to say i've been getting over ptsd of card for a LONG time. I was so nervous to take this test but now that I've done it and i passed, I have a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. Like a looming darkness over my life is finally gone. Might be over dramatic but im just so happy about it. All these videos helped my confidence a lot! Good luck to anyone else out there you can do it too i promise!

Katherine Mujica- it really depends on the state you’re taking it in...Most test now are shorter than usual and different due to COVID....For example, I took mine in Florida so due to COVID the test was shortened and was basically in a empty parking lot. They tested us only on maneuverability instead of taking us on the road to see how much control we had of the car, and the instructor was not allowed in the car with us and instead talked to us through a phone/radio as she watched from outside with all our windows down...if you are a minor and adult must be in the car w/ you, in my case it was my mom....But it’s really different for every state, some states are doing shortened maneuverability test like I did and some are doing shortened road test..in my case the test took 8 to 10 minutes...But it all depends on your state, I would do research to see what your state is doing to implement safety standards for COVID and how modified the test is😌(sorry for the long comment )

So what i did wrong was turned at a stop sign when two cars were coming my way the first car was turning so I took my turn but the instructor said it could be unsafe if the car behind goes around, then at an intersection I let a person turn when I had the right of way.. the second time around I stayed calm and did my best

I actually got my permit 2 days ago and I'm going to start learning how to drive next week. I've been watching these videos so I can prepare myself. I will do my best to practice constantly. I'll try and update how the practice driving is going, when I schedule my appointment, and after I take the test. Also idk if anyone will see this comment, that's okay, I kinda just want to do this for myself and be able to look back at my driving endeavors. Update: Practice #1 (08/30/2021) Today was my first day behind the wheel, and boy it was tough. For the first couple of minutes I pressed on the gas a little to rough and I hit the curb in reverse. As the time went on, I started to familiarize myself with the car and I was actually not that bad. My turning and braking was okay, the only issue is I need to stay in my lane and look at the mirrors. I will be practicing again this Wednesday with a family friend. I will update at the end of the week. Update #2 (9/1/21): The good news is that I am doing great on the hand over hand method. My right and left turns and checking the mirrors have improved, but there is still space for even more improvement. Still having difficulty in keeping the car in my lane, but I feel like once I have lines to guide me I will improve a lot. I dont plan on driving on the main road anytime soon, I think that will be my next update. Update #3 (9/15/21) Today was the first day on the road, and it was so much fun. I am confident in my right turns and my left turns. Although I have not tried left turns on the main road, I will be practicing that tomorrow. I would like to consider myself a okay driver now. I'm proud out how far I've come and I'm excited for tomorrow. I will update tomorrow. Update #4 (9/20/21) Forgot to update on the 16th but thats okay. I have practiced my left turns on the road and I'm doing well. I have also improved in looking at my mirrors. Although I am doing okay in staying in my lane I sometimes slide to the other side without noticing. Other then keeping in my lane it is safe to say that I am ready for my driving test and will schedule it soon (probably in 2 to 3 weeks). The next update will be when I schedule my drivers test. Update #5 (09/23/2021) I have scheduled my appointment for the driving test on October 27th. All I have to do is keep practicing and improve even more. I will update a day before the test. Update #6 (07/06/2022) I am so sorry that it took me almost a year to update, if im being completely honest I forgot about this comment lol (sorry about that). Let me inform you of what has happened since the last update. October 27th was my appointment and everything went well... until the very end of the test. Everything was perfect during the whole exam and it was time to head back to the DMV to park the car and receive my score. When entering the DMV there is a separate designated parking area to park in after the test. In the DMV that I was testing in, there is a small entrance to this parking lot and you really have to open up before proceeding inside and... I did not do that at all, my nerves got the best of me and I went on top of the curb (which is an automatic fail 🤦🏽‍♀️) I parked and the instructor informed me that I was a great driver and that she was ready to pass me within the first 5 minutes but unfortunately, I hit the curb. I rescheduled my appointment in 2 weeks and waited until then. 2 weeks pass and it was the day of my driving test (again) and this time I was determined to get my license. So my test starts and I'm doing okay, not as good as my first time (at this point I had stopped practicing and just waited for my test. I also think my nerves took over a bit as I was scared to fail again for something so stupid). As the test comes to an end I was told to park at the designated area and I was having flash backs of the first test and feared for the worst. Anyways, I start going slow, I open up, enter the parking area, and... I DIDN'T HIT THE CURB (the sigh of relief) I park the car and anxiously await for him to finish writing down his notes. He informs me of the things I should work on and tells me that I passed my driving test 🎉🥳. After the test I received my license 2 weeks later and was still riding the bus and walking to work for 5 months until... I BOUGHT MY CAR!!!! The feeling of getting your first car is such an exhilarating experience and I will forever cherish that day as one of the most momentous/greatest days of my life! Driving/buying a car is one of the greatest privileges that has ever been granted to me and I will never take it for granted (and I hope that all of you get to have this moment in your life no matter what age). It is amazing to see the progress that I have made in almost a year and the happiness that runs though me when I see all the progress that I have made. I just want to remind everyone that reads this post is that driving takes time and you're going to need a lot of patience. It's a slow process, but quitting will not speed it up. If you fail please whatever you do, do not give up on yourself, brush it off and keep going because there will be another chance to do better. Just know that someone on the internet that does not know you at all has faith in you (it's me btw lol). Anyways, to new and old drivers, be safe out there and I hope to see you on the road! p.s. if anyone was wondering about the car that I got it is a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE.

i took the test and passed and bro the relief u get when u see that u passed is soo amazing. but dont stress the behind the wheel is easy. just remember to look over your shoulder, go the speed limit, don’t cut cars and when turning onto a different street go to the nearest lane. also hand iver hand. if u can do that then you’ll pass easily! u got this

My handbook specifically stated to not enter into the bike lane for any reason unless specified to do so by emergency personnel or if you need to enter it in order to avoid an accident. So things have changed or my state is different than yours. They made it very clear in bold letters, DO NOT ENTER THE BIKE LANE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE and then listed the 2 exceptions.

I passed my test today!!! After 3 failed attempts, I finally came through!! The lady who instructed me made me nervous at first but after the test was over she told me I passed, and inside my head I was like “yes!”. She gave me a few helpful tips at the end like not to break so hard and not to enter the center turning lane too early but she said other than that “it was a pretty good drive”. To future test takers - it’s ok to be nervous, everyone usually is. Don’t be worried about getting a hard instructor; if you’re a good driver, you will pass! If you know for a fact you made a mistake while taking the test don't think about it, just keep chugging along for the remainder of the test. The more you think about that mistake, the more nervous/rattled you get and when you're nervous you increase your chances to make stupid/avoidable mistakes.

I think it depends where you are but I took my test today and I hit the curb on both my parallel and my uphill park (more like grazed it). For the parallel I asked if I could pull out and redo it and she let me, but I think I just had a very forgiving examiner. I can't say the same about every other place tho
