I just took mine and am usually an extremely nervous person, however the day of my exam I did not get nervous at all which had me so shook. Here is what I did so that nerves would not get the best out of me: -Practiced (2 weeks before my test I would go to the dmv around 3-4 times a week and I practiced parallel parking since it was what scared me the most.) -Know the route ( there are some route videos for certain dmvs that you can look up, you might know someone that has taken the test there before so ask what roads you might take so you know the speed limits beforehand) -Don't tell people that you are taking the test other than your parents or whoever will take you or has been helping you. (this removes you the fear of having to tell people you failed if you do happen to fail) -Do not make plans (don't make plans with friends assuming you will pass the test because it will just add more pressure and if you don't pass first try it might feel more upsetting) -Don't make it a big deal (try to have other plans for the day so that you are not just focusing on that test the 24/7 making you more uncomfortable) -Don't tell your self you will pass or fail, instead tell yourself "If I pass I pass, if I don't I don't" (Remember if you fail it is not a bad thing, it is probably best because it just gives you time to practice even more and improve your driving +you will know what to practice this time.)

To those who are nervous or have failed their driving exam: I am a 23 year old woman, I have always lived with an irrational fear of driving because of a really bad car wreck I got into with my mother, since then, I never wanted to learn how to drive because I was always scared of getting in a wreck. I then had to put my fear aside because I got tired of depending on other people for rides, I wanted to have my own freedom. I finally decided to learn how to drive and I did my drivers ED online. I passed my written test with a perfect score and it was time for me to schedule my road test. The first time I took it, I was so nervous I ended up failing because I was too caught up into my thoughts fearing that I would fuck up and guess what? I fucked up. The second time around I failed, I got discouraged and didn't want to try anymore. I knew I was a safe driver i just know I was never good with tests. Then I sucked it up, I scheduled my appointment for the third time and then I kept telling myself that I am a safe driver, I did make some errors because my examiner was a little intimidating but i managed to pull through. I ended up passing! I now have my drivers license and my city has a new driver. If I can do it, then you definitely can too! Make sure you stay calm, you know you're a safe driver thats why you scheduled to take the road exam , always keep that in mind. Make sure you're not too caught up into your thoughts when driving because you'll end up losing focus and might even end up making a mistake. Don't think about messing up, because you'll only mess up. You got this!

this makes me so upset lol. the student was lacking practice and still passed. in alberta the test is so difficult. it amazes me to see that people don’t have to perform any special maneuvers or parking like hill parking and parallel parking on tests. just easy neighbour hood driving.
@fcyvr58604 жыл бұрын
In BC, new drivers are tested on; 2 and 3 point turns, reverse stall parking, parallel & hill parking, parking at the side of the road, hazard perception - verbally identify the hazards, straight line backing up. This examiner is better suited as a driving instructor and she would be awesome at it
@Kiona763 жыл бұрын
In California we don't do any of those either. Driving in reverse and driving around neighborhoods. Super easy
@royal_gaming90983 жыл бұрын
in Ontario we gotta do 3 point uphill or downhill and parallel, if they do not do parallel you need to do reverse parking when finishing up the test, i kept stressing for it for no reason but it was pretty easy if you’re calm and confident
@Echo_R214 жыл бұрын
See this is actually scary. Sometimes I wonder how people get their driver licenses and “nice” examiners are the reason why. That driver showed she didn’t know the rules of the road and how to maneuver the vehicle. She made wide turns about twice and the examiner had to constantly tell her things she should already know. This was horrible.
@jitmukerji56414 жыл бұрын
i agree allowing this driver to pass can put other drivers in danger i don’t think this driver is ready to drive on his or her own yet
@austincrs4 жыл бұрын
this was the most stupid driving test I've ever seen. The instructor should stick to TEACHING people not examining them. If all instructors were like this the crash rates would be 10x greater than today. If i see this driver on the road im turning around going the other way and never coming back. Forget my house and my wife and kids i will never be in that town again not with this driver in my radius. Nah forget than im moving out of the USA if i see this driver on the same road as me. Suicide might also be an option. Worst driver on planet earth.
@skArpPT3 жыл бұрын
This is worrisome for me. The examiner should have failed this driver. If she let this person pass and they end up crashing and hurting or worse killing someone then that's on her. I understand being nervous and all but damn this personbshouldnt be on the road until they can demonstrate proper driving skills.
@PichoGabi3 жыл бұрын
The examiner were irresponsible, passing such an incompetent student causes major road accidents and this such an examiners is the main reason for this. The examiner know the fact that such a drivers made error in their practical driving and causes for a ticket and then we, DMV run on the ticket money... Fire her right now...

I honestly would've failed the driver. Multiple times they did not come to complete stops, were drifting into the opposite lanes, made hard stops, used their signals too early/long (which is confusing to other drivers). Definitely would've suggested more practicing before taking the test again.

This should have been a clear fail. Failure to full stop, sudden stops, lane usage, and being nervous on the road is a recipe for disaster. The examiner gave way too much coaching, it's a test, the learning and instruction should be mostly done by this point.

I totally agree. Except for being nervous, I would fail the test in the Netherlands when I would make errors about lane usage, and don't stop at the 8-angled stop sign. Nervosity is not a reason to fail a test. I was very nervous, but I was good enough to pass the test, because I just made 2 small errors which is not a problem. And I agree that the examiner gave way too much coaching. Is this a test or an exam (what it is supposed toe be), or is this a driving lesson? To me it is like a driving lesson. That is not the purpose of an exam.

While I do think the examiner is a very kind person, I dont think that she should be doing this job. She really wanted to pass this student and coached them to avoid making mistakes. I'm sure the student is much better at driving now but there were a few critical errors that should have been a fail. Practice defensive and safe driving habits.

fear of failing makes you nervous because it’s expensive to fail. But usually no one would take the driving test unless they have received enough training. The examiner understands this well and she is an angel. She is encouraging and a wonderful person. Must be a wonderful happy lady in real life.
@luisquezada98063 жыл бұрын
"But usually no one would take the driving test unless they have received enough training" That is just straight up not true, it happens constantly, which is why it's an exam. You're there to prove that you are not a danger on the road and have received enough training.

The so-called examiner was tremendously magnanimous to the incompetent driver. Those atrocious driving skills could’ve injured or even killed anyone hence, a deserved and obvious fail. No further explanation needed. She should’ve practiced and studied before the “test” to ease nerves down. Overall, we all make mistakes, but letting her have a licence is dangerous. I just hope she practiced and got better over these 11 months, otherwise she could’ve been involved in a car crash or even been arrested! God bless.
