The route you took out of Perth, through Cadoux etc...has that been opened up to road trains now? That saves a lot of travelling to Northam, dropping a trailer and then going back to Perth, collecting another trailer and then going to Northam and hooking up again... also, to reduce your food costs, have you ever thought of getting individual packs of steak, sausages etc vacuumed packed so you can keep them in the fridge and not frozen? Then at night, a small gas BBQ.. fry up the steak, add some veggies or salad etc... too easy.. great video mate!!

Yes I see lots of people coming up a storm but I'm not one of them. At the end of the day, all I want to do is go to bed. Road Train can use the route I take. Many companies from the east are going that way now.

1 of the great vids from all great vids you made. I was looking at the map. A road from Uwora straight to Port Augusta, so you dont have go tru Ceduna. Wil win KM and time. And a road around Port Augusta,so you dont have to go tru it. Better for road trains. Well,just a brain storm.

love the fact you filmed during loading, most truckers miss that part. I do wish you didnt overlay the video with music though, remember if someone wants to listen to music they can always pick their own. Raw engine sounds are what im after, shame it was all removed, apart from that little bit. Thanks for making the video though, appreciate it
@RoadTrainAdventures6 ай бұрын
In my later videos I add more engine noise but won't cut all the music out. From now I usually have at least 20 engine noise compared to music.

I will try the alternate route via Wongan Hills in a few weeks when I head over. I see it is 615km from Coolgardie to Perth via Northam and 651 via Wongan Hills so not much further and it does cut out the dog runs ex Northam which in and out is 200km extra. I know the food prices are expensive in the roadhouses but you need to remember that they are powered by generators and to attract staff is expensive. Better off to factor it into the cost of the trip and suck it up because if you take out one or 2 of them the distances are huge between those that would be left.
@RoadTrainAdventures6 ай бұрын
Yes but Norseman isn't. They are on mains power but they are the most expensive place.

Hi Johno, I was is Sydney a month ago (I'm from NZ), and I saw trucks hauling 2x40ft containers. So why do you have to take off your 2nd trailer.
@RoadTrainAdventures6 ай бұрын
The road rules for the area. Those truck and trailers are very short. Short truck, the trailers are only 40 foot and the dolly has a short draw bar. We have a longer truck and 45 foot trailers and a longer draw bar making the overall length at least 35 metres compared to just 30.

What are your thoughts on the LED spotlights? Do you find them too bright and tiring? I now run Lightforce Hybrids on my 4wd and I’m not convinced they’re better than the FYRLYT halogen I ran before that. I’d be very interested from a professional truckies perspective.
