ROAMS01E32 Just Me & My Jimny, Finding Solitude Offroad in Botswana (Suzuki Jimny JB74 2019)

Leaving Khama Rhino Sanctuary behind, it was time to head out to adventure on my own in my Suzuki Jimny. I was heading to a salt pan for a night of wild camping in the middle of nowhere. It would take me through cattle stations and lead me to the point of giving up. But the prize was worth it! Fighting through the heavy winds and with potential rain on the horizon, the risk had to be taken.

Adventure is to experience every thing while their seems to be nothing, when doing it alone even better. Good quality camp chair, I must say ! Just always impressed with small 3 door Jeeps and how it is rigged compared to the very expensive big one,s. Yours is great indeed! Enjoy Botswana.

I love your videos, the Jimny is such a nice little real 4x4. A small trailer like some of the American Jeep guys do for the Tent and fuel would be a great solution maybe for longer trips like this

The thing I hate most about camping is when you get to sleep and then the wind picks up and makes so much noise you can't sleep anymore. I'm a pretty light sleeper and it's hell for me. Now I just chuck my mattress inside the Jimny and sleep there if there's any chance of wind.

@@FireManiac58 I'm 5'10. It's not roomy but I am comfortable in there. I think I will get a swag and carry it on a ladder at the rear. Swags are better in the wind and also in the heat, than a normal tent.

It is pretty heavy, but my suspension is tuned to handle the weight, and it does a pretty damn good job. I am looking at ways to reduce the rooftop weight going forward but this is a solid setup. And if you do short trips with guaranteed fuel stops; so you don’t need the Jerry cans, it handles the rooftop tent perfectly.

I'm in the states and own a Toyota 4Runner..and was considering one of their hard shell RTT's but after seeing how much more space they take (virtually the entire roof rack plus overhand) I've decided to save some space and go for the series three...I guess one gets used to the slightly longer setup and breakdown time..but one also gets a true queen mattress with the 1600..
