Budget Overland Build Ep6: Number 1 Upgrade Installing a Canopy!

Arguably the most important upgrade you can make to your vehicle for Overlanding. The humble aluminium canopy separates itself from its fibreglass counterparts in a couple of different ways; Dust and Water Seal, Strength and Reliability. I have used and tested many canopies since 2013... Bushtech is by far the best on the market... at least in SA.

Very impressive canopy. I decided to change from my Ford Ranger to Fortuner as my 4x4 vehicle, as we purchased an Invader off road camper, but I would definitely have bought one of these after watching this had I stayed with the Ranger!

I have 4 of those ammo boxes. They fit under a shelf in the back of my Pajero and don't have all the weight issues of drawers. They have been beach camping on much of the Queensland Coast including Fraser Island. They have the seal of approval from my wife! And good to support gear from our old country.

You can buy BushTech in the UK from a company called APB Trading, they import a lot of our South African manufactured overlanding gear

I think its just a couple actuators and solenoids that need to be replaced; the pats have been ordered etc; just waiting to install it.

most of the things are sorted now; at least the stuff remaining is small electric problems that are getting resolved slowly but surely! but mechanically she is 100%

I think it’s a 4-5week manufacturing process. Some canopies for popular vehicles like the Hilux they might even have stock; but the orders have been crazy so there is a bit of a waiting list these days 👌🏻
