Also, my headcanon for Bundle is that it was made as a toy. Waiting for the DLC to shoot that headcanon down, but until then, that's what I'm going with. Lol.

I think it is interesting to note that the appearances of Pokémon from the past aren't also dictated just through Mega Evolution. Hisuian Braviary is a great example of this, after some hundred years it has changed it's genealogy changed over time and is what it is in the modern era. Some Pokémon outright lost their original strengths through time due to changes in the environment Pokémon's used to live in such as Stantler. It's Violet Dex entry reads as follows: "It's said that this Pokémon used to be stronger long ago when it had many enemies, and that it was even able to evolve under its own power." It can be said that due to less threats over time with humans domesticating Pokémon, there wasn't a need for Stantler's to evolve to adapt to the harsh world of the food chain and in time they were simply unable to evolve because it's been erased from their genetic codes.

@@GatorEX I think it's a great video idea you should consider, specifically the about the Paradox Pokémon of the Past and taking a more in-depth look at the Hisuian Pokémon of old that changed over time and compare the differences between them. I actually had another theory entirely which is even crazier to think about. Maybe the Paradox Pokémon of the Past and the Future aren't the Past and Future of our timeline in the Pokémon series, instead they were being pulled not just from a different time but an entirely different parallel dimension. It really makes you wonder 🤔

Roaring Moon's dex entry does confirm that Scarlet and Violet take place in the Mega Evolution Universe (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) rather than the non-Mega Evolution Universe (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald) described in ORAS's Delta Episode. Maybe this means we could see the return of Mega Evolution in one of the DLC if it has anything to do with Kalos.

Interesting how Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion were featured in the same games in the franchise and how similar they are. There are most definitely strong links between the two phenomena which is compounded by these past paradox forms and the mega aerodactyl dex entry.

Actually, Sada mentions that the Prehistoric Past was filled with "primal energy". My theory is that, over time, Primal Energy began to disappear and Pokemon had to adapt to their more modern day counterparts to compensate. Even Groudon and Kyogre suffered because of a lack of Primal Energy and became weaker as well. But unlike regular Pokemon, who lost most of their Primal genetics and are unable to return to their Primal forms, Groudon and Kyogre are Pokemon from basically the beginning of time, and due to the odd nature of Energy turning into crystals, they revert back to their original forms when exposed to Primal Energy from their respective Orbs.

@@ionryful you didn’t need the “actually” because what you’ve said just adds to what I’ve said. In terms of energy being stored in crystals, maybe mega stones and mega evolution are a lesser form of primal reversion in that case. The primal energy stored in the blue orbs and red orbs is pure and only exists because, as you stated, kyogre and groudon have existed constantly since the formation of the planet. For pretty much every other Pokémon the respective mega stones wouldn’t be pure primal energy plus their modern genetics are different. The only odd case in this theory is mega rayquaza.

@@SuperJibulus Mega Stones were created from Infinity Energy not Primal Energy and Rayquaza has an organ that allows itself to Mega Evolve without a Mega Stone. Primal Energy only existed in the Pre-historic past and no longer exists, or at the very least there's very little of it, with the exception of the Orbs. Rayquaza lived just as Groudon and Kyogre but doesn't have a Primal Form but a Mega Evolution. Theoretically, Raquaza never changed and doesn't need to Primal Revert because he's still in his original "Primal" state, unlike Groudon and Kyogre who lost power and need the Orbs to regain their original forms.

To circle back to Scream Tail/Jigglypuff, maybe the reason the paradox form is of Jigglypuff and not Wigglytuff is back in Scream Tails time period moon stones didn’t exist. So maybe by the time the first moon stones fell to planet it had been such a long time already that Scream Tail didn’t exist anymore and the species had already turned into Jigglypuff. Also the fact that Wigglytuff and Clefable (which both are obtained using moon stones) share a decent amount of features (body shape, color, fairy typing) makes me believe they’re related in some way.

It's likely Cleffa could be a descendent of Scream Tail, just evolved in a different manner. It's plausible since alot of animals tend to have a similar ancestor yet don't look like their ancestor.

I always did think that Mega Evolution had an effect of bringing out features from ancient ancestors and past evolutions, with some Megas very clearly being designed to resemble the first stages of their evolution line. Roaring Moon's existence just confirms that for me.

It'd be interesting to see Bagon could be the exact descendant of Roaring Moon and Salamence is the Bagons that wanted to fly and returned back to Roaring Moon's Dormant Genes, Mega Evolution only pushing it further and re-awakening the dormant genes within Salamence. This is further backed by how drastically different the Pokedex Entries of Salamence and it's Mega in SuMo/USUM. Mega Salamence is stated to be extremely vicious to the point it's dubbed the Blood Soaked Crescent while Non-Mega Salamence is stated to be extremely joyful to finally fly to the point it almost never touches the ground. Two drastically different personalities in one dragon. Although the closest is that Salamence can be out of control when it does get pissed yet it's not pissed to the extent of Mega Salamence. Roaring Moon's Dormant Genes in Mega Salamence could be the reason why it's Mega is so brutal and savage, Mega Salamence returns to it's ancestor's primal instincts, making it act more vicious instead of acting as a powered up form of Salamence.

The concept of seeing Paradox Pokemon being related to Mega Evolution, both Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant specifically, is cool to see. It's not often we see continuity in a Pokemon game and as far I am aware, the last time continuity was done was back in Gen II with GSC. Now, things are being more tied down and adding more lore to the world itself rather than just the region itself.

I don’t know if most people notice that there are actually some elements of Hydreigon in Roaring Moon’s design, most notably with the way it drapes its legs and tail while hovering and the rear plumage in its wings resembling Hydreigon’s black tattered wings. It even has its dark type. Most people acknowledge Iron Valiant being a mix of Gallade and Gardevoir, even though it has far more of Gallade in its design. It’s the same with Iron Valiant, just a little more subtle.

Well, the game actually explicitly states that Iron Valiant resembles both Gardevoir and Gallade so there's actually merit to that. Roaring Moon is only said to resemble a transformation of Salamence.

I personally subscribe to the AbsolBlogs theory that Paradox mons are actual paradoxes and don't exist in the past or future, but instead are made by the power of the legendary behind terastalization, and it's power is making imagination reality or altering minds to make it so. Like the robot clone or the time machine itself is what Sada/Turo wished for and it works the way they imagined. Or how as Arvin says every mention of it in every copy of the Scarlet / Violet Book has the page blurred out, or if the "An Imagined Pokemon" page with the fused trio Suicune / Virizion become real it would really make no sense otherwise in that context. All of the Paradox pokedex entries make sure to say that it was mentioned in an occult magazine or journal in both version. Some don't even talk about the Pokémon at all very much.

Another detail regarding Mega Salamence's physical connection to Roaring Moon is that, upon Mega Evolving, you can briefly see burning red stripes on the edges of Salamence's belly. Roaring Moon also has these stripes, but there are fewer of them, and much more visible with the yellow contrasting its red stomach.

Ruby: It is said that this powerful desire triggered a sudden mutation in this Pokémon's cells, causing it to sprout its magnificent wings. Ultra Sun: The stress of its two proud wings becoming misshapen and stuck together because of strong energy makes it go on a rampage. Ultra Moon: It puts its forelegs inside its shell to streamline itself for flight. BDSP: As a result of its long-held dream of flying, its cellular structure changed, and wings grew out. It would make sense evolution wise some genes do fall out of favor overtime and if the people of dragon really care for therefore dragons they would be domesticated out. The feathers are lost and it seem like it ready for more battles / wishing flight. With addition mutation cells. Gardevoir / Gallade seem to be a technological combination of both the Mega evolution feature. But I think something else like Lucario got into the mix idk… But its me speculating because of the design.

I got a shiny zweillous and roaring moon on my first dragon sandwich (encounter and shining power 3). My roaring moon has the angry mark too (my first marked shiny), so it’s “Roaring Moon the Furious” which is super fitting and sounds really cool too. For anyone struggling with the hunt, autobattle constantly, it’ll help in allowing new spawns, also, move slow, despawn only 1-2 Pokémon at a time so there’s not enough room for a horde spawn like gible or greavard, then you should get a lot more roaring moons (and zweillous too, but that’s fine)

one thing you should note about most Paradox pokemon is how they are supposed to be Ancient/Futuristic, but their descriptions do not make enough sense and can be taken with a grain of salt, as if someone made their OC pokemon in less than a day and forgot to check for inconsistencies between their designs and backstories. this may give another point in favor of that one popular theory around the net about what the Paradox mons truly are.

I would like to Gamefreak to release mega evolution as Apex form of a certain Pokémon, and in reality that only happen under intense training and experience so it would be very hard to achieve in wild Pokémon in nature but the ones would be as strong as legendaries. So the mega stone was a way to obtain that perfect form just for a period of time, and if you train a Pokémon while holding a terra crystal it could achieve that apex form that is something primal for each Pokémon. Something like this would be so cool, and would bring back mega evolution while not having the mega as a game mechanic.

I don't wanna be a party crasher and SPOILER ALERT But, and this is my theory, the pre historic pokemon don't really exist in the past. They called paradox for a reason, it is an alternative timeline. And some people point out that maybe the time machine isnt an actual time machine but a dream machine, something you can think and turns into reality. What I think is someone who was at the area Zero THOUGHT what ancient salamence looked like, but most likely only saw the mega evolutiom of it in wich turned into roaring moon. This seems to be the case since the dex of Scream tail for instance tells about a time of Billions of years ago. If the pokemon planet is like an earth, Scream tail appeared in a time where Micro and celular life started to show up in our Waters and no complex life had existed yet. I would think that the dexes of both Scarlet and violet of the paradox pokemon are just, incomplete or for the lack of a better term, have no information of these pokemon whatsoever, since their names seem to be just like place holder ones.

Assuming Roaring Moon is even real. It very well could be true that the Imagination Theory is correct and Roaring Moon looks the way it does because people imagine an ancient Salamance would look like that. I do love the idea of some Mega Evolutions bringing back or reactivating some sort of ancient features/power. It fleshes it out more like what the Mega Aerodactyl dex entry did. This is also why I hope the Imagination Theory is not real but thats just copium tbh. I just really like the Ancinet Pokemon and I love thinking about Paradox Fake Fakemon. How a Paradox Blaziken would probably have some dinosaur features. Perhaps it wouldn't even have a beak.

Roaring Moon might be might be the original salamence because you the trainer when you make it mega evolve make it look similar to wrong roaring Moon so it's all because of the trainer

I think that Roaring Moon is both the best Salamence form (I know it's a different species but you get what I mean) and the best past Paradox 'mon (though I still like most of the future paradox Pokemon more). And second thing, I would be able to enjoy all S/V related content, like, 10x more if only my not-even-a-month-old Switch's fan didn't go crazy whenever I try to play the games for more that 10 minutes :/

I also hated Mega Sal because I thought it looks so dumb and i was like how do you fumble Mega Evolving one of the coolest Pokémon, so the way i see it Roaring Moon is what Mega Sal was meant to be, not in a literal since but in a “Mega Sal looks dumb so we gotta make it up by giving us Cool Sal now” way
