I know a lot of people don't like that Genshin is a gacha and I'm not saying everything about gacha is good, but it can also be a lot of fun to micromanage resources. Having a limited amount of resin means you have to really think about which domains are a priority. Having minimal weapons and characters means creativity is a must for Spiral Abyss. Even when I lost out on a character I really wanted I was like oh, I should have thought harder about my priorities, pulling on other banners was a bad idea. Making do with what you have can be a really enjoyable challenge.

I don't really love Gacha just like anyone who likes their money but it's the system we have and it's why we get so many characters, that's their money making engine. As for resin and limited resources I actually love it because it allows you to always have goals, there's always stuff to earn and characters to build that you just haven't gotten around to get. I think most games use stamina aka resin very poorly but I think Genshin did it quite well. Sure I'd like a bit more and more storage but oh well. Minor complaints.

Today I watched someone get a 28 crit value atk% sands at ar51, and he said “it sucks”. I was shocked when my best atk% sands after 15000 resin at ar56 only has 30 crit value. Xd, people literally have very high expectations, when you need 20 crit value artifacts at most to 36 star the abyss. And also people say Atk% elemental mastery and energy recharge substats suck. Like wow, bro, crit is not the only stat that matters in this game...

I have a friend who calls 4 star artifacts garbage. I play since day once and they do maybe too? I'm not sure tbh. But they play at least since a year. Calling 4 stars unnecessary and saying crit rate and crit dmg are all that matter and atk and i'm here like " w h aaat." EM builds shred, especially most of the characters do because guess, most dps are element based. If not they have a very unique feature. Like itto with def stats and xiao who has the highest base atk in the game and a unique plunge in burst mode. Same with raiden and her ER stats.

@@a-local-queen7699 4 star artifacts aren't the best because you can't level them to 20, which misses out on the mainstat (and the extra substat boost but that's rng). They're a good filler option but it's definitely worth it to try to get a decent 5 star artifact.

5:29 I'm pretty sure they meant the upgrading, where every +4 levels on an artifact upgrades (or adds if it's the first +4) a substat. A 5-star artifact can only do this 5 times (hence the "x5") and only has 4 maximum substats (hence the 25%) This is what I think they're talking about but they're still very absurd and hysterical in their review

Some Genshin players are so immature, they don’t understand what gacha games means They are toxic about character They cry over bad artifacts Like dude what’s your expectations from this game it’s free there are many fun characters to play with and ARTIFACT !! Dude no one would have played any game if it was too easy , I love the game but the only thing I feel like that lacks is there’s nothing much we can do in co op other than that it’s almost perfect game (for me at least)

My only big gripe are the big limited time events. Some looked genuinly fun. Also imagine being a new player hearing of an event and then realizing you'd have to speed trough the story to maybe participate in time. Especially for events that give decent characters/weapons it kinda sucks, since f2p would massively benefit from even just the main reward. I'm glad i returned recently to grab xinquie, but it's pretty blatant fomo design (which almost made me burn myself completely since i obviously didn't wanna miss primos and maybe even characters)

Yeah, I can get events like windtrace and stuff being limited time because they’re just for fun and you get a decent amount of rewards for doing them, but events like unreconciled stars, and the Albedo events that contain a lot of lore should’ve been incorporated into the actual story like they did with the Chasm story quest when it ran with an event. And the fact that Albedo’s best in slot weapon is a one time only weapon that has never been put on banners and might not ever come back is kinda sucky of them too. So TLDR; make events more fun and games based rather than have big lore drops in them like Albedo’s

I kinda get the frustration with events, though the issue is less about the level cap and more about how time-limited they are. I does suck for newer players that they'll miss huge swaths of lore and content 😞

I have to actually agree with what the guy at 8:30 says about events being unfair (in terms of not being able to unlock it) My friend has recently joined the game during november and we're in college so we both have a pretty tight schedule She had to speedrun the whole liyue archon quest to be able to participate in the lantern rite event and the same situation is happening with the three realms offering event happening in enkanomiya. She's still doing the inazuma main archon quest so she has to speedrun the hell out of it just to be able to access the event. I dont like how genshin restricts new players that join the game, like having to do multiple character story quests to unlock a limited time event Tbh this new player restriction also applies to new characters cuz someone who's still stuck in mondstadt and liyue cant rlly level up an inazuma character so it'll get even worse when more regions come out and hoyoverse doesnt fix the problem Other than that, yeah, the review was pretty bad

I swear people go onto this game with insanely high expectations, especially with getting characters. You don't absolutely need every 5star to survive 😭 heck, you can even do that with just the starter characters. Unless you're a huge collector with extra money to spend, or want to reach insanely big damage, then that's kind of your choice to be honest.

3:33 "Magic Players don't expect to own every single Magic card, League players aren't expected to own every champion when they start out" There's a huge difference between Genshin and those games though. Magic and League have ways to guarantee or outright buy the things you want with in-game currency. Everything that matters gameplay-wise in League and Magic is permanent and can be bought with infinitely farmable/more accessible in-game currency than Primogems. Want to try out Fiddlesticks? Go complete some dailies for a week and you'll have have enough blue essence to buy him. Want to play him NOW?! Well the blue essence rate drops after your dailies are complete but you can still farm more to cut down the week of farming to three days maybe. Magic has a crafting system that allows you to create the cards you need for a deck by grinding down less useful cards. Even if you pull absolute trash from packs, they can be ground down into cards you need for your deck to work. Genshin has none of those systems. Primogems aren't infinitely farmable, you only get enough primos for 1/3 of a pull per day and an average of 5 pulls per event with maybe a 10 pull for the bigger events. Banners only last 20 days so nothing is permanent except for standard 5*s (which even THEY don't have a guaranteed way to obtain them) That's around 30 pulls for F2Ps per banner while pity hits at around ~80 pulls meaning F2P players have to skip 5 banners in total for a guarantee at a banner character. That's 3 whole months of stale gameplay using the same characters over and over. Now, of course there is the point that "YoU DOn't NeEd tO OwN EveRy cHaRacTeR." But sometimes playing a new character IS THE CONTENT. Whenever we get a dry update with like 2 story quests that can be completed in a day and a few minor limited time events that provide like 15 minutes of content per day, you're constantly taunted by the new character banner, the trial run of the character just showed you how powerful that character is and it has been stuck in your mind for the entire update, getting a new character gives you something new to build instead of being stuck with the same team you've been using for 2 months. A new character introduces new teambuilding possibilities, gives you ways to shuffle your team around. A new character gives you SOMETHING TO DO. That's the feeling that Genshin is constantly trying to get into your head. This is what is so fucked up about Genshin. In League or Magic it's understandable to get excited about new champions or new cards. Even if you're not a day 1 adopter, you know they're not going away so you have a sense of ease knowing that although you can't play them now due to being short on in-game funds, you always know that you can get them later if you really want to play them or want to focus on something else. Getting excited about new Genshin characters gets met with responses like "Don't pull, save your primos" "I heard they're trash" "You know you don't have to have every character right?" YES, I KNOW! I KNOW ALL THESE THINGS! BUT I WANT TO HAVE FUN! I WANT TO HAVE THE FREEDOM TO TEST OUT EVERY CHARACTER, MIX AND MATCH THEM IN DIFFERENT TEAMS, SEE WHAT WORKS! THAT'S MY WAY OF HAVING FUN AND THE FACT THAT I'VE BEEN PLAYING THE GAME SINCE LAUNCH DAY AND I'VE BEEN BUYING WELLKINS EVERY MONTH AND DOING ALL WEB EVENTS AND I STILL DON'T HAVE JEAN AND I'M STILL MISSING SOME LIMITED 5*S EVEN THOUGH I STOP PULLING IMMEDIATELY AFTER GETTING ONE COPY OF THEM IS INFURIATING! A LAUNCH DAY LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PLAYER WILL 100% HAVE EVERY CHAMPION WHILE SITTING COMFORTABLY ON A MOUNTAIN OF BLUE ESSENCE READY TO BUY THE NEXT CHAMPION THAT COMES OUT, ALL WITHOUT SPENDING A PENNY!

I use LoL and MTG as examples because they're popular and you only realistically need 1 competitive deck or a decent roster of champs in 1-2 roles. Of course they're not direct comparisons and the acquisition of Genshin characters is wildly different but that's not the point I was making. It's a real feelsbad man moment when an entire patches new content is a single 5 star that you probably won't even get but regardless you likely don't "need" it. All non character content can be experienced and cleared with just 4 stars if you invest properly. Regardless it's getting too deep into a comment that was basically summed up as game is free, so experience what you can and want to because it's pretty damn good for a free experience.

I joined in patch 2.4 and honestly, I've been sooo hooked that I've grinded all the way to ar 55, completely 100% exploration in Mondstadt and Liyue (plus Dragonspine and The Chasm for good measure) in roughly 3 months? I think? The only gripe I have with genshin is the amount of RNG (from the gacha to artifacts, books, weapon/character materials) but that's to be expected from this genre, I knew what I was getting myself into when I started. The only time where you would need cracked out artifacts is spiral abyss, but that's a fraction of the content in a game where you can play for free. I don't like gambling in any form whatsoever (because the house always wins) but willingly chose to dive into this hellhole. That goes to show how well made the game is. Little side note: my first limited 5* was ganyu (yeah...i was really lucky) and my first genuine first impression of her just from the banner art was something like: "she doesn't look like she'll do much damage compared to the other guy, but I don't like geo that much so..."

I just wanted to say though, by "25% chance x 5", the person doesn't mean 0.25x5 or anything. They mean there's 4 substats for every artifact, so there's a 25% chance on each upgrade that it hits one of the good substats you want (unless it has 2 or more good substats, but still it's 25% for whatever particular singular substat you want it to land on). And the "x5" part simply means that you have to get lucky enough to land on good substats 5 times, as 5-star artifact substats upgrade every four levels (lvl 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20). They typed it out in a weird way, but it's just another way of saying "Every substat has a 25% chance of being landed on which is already low odds, but it's made worse by the fact that you have to survive those low odds 5 times." Most people don't trash a pretty good artifact if they miss just one bad substat roll. Sometimes even with two bad substat rolls, you'll keep an artifact just because it's so rare in its main stat and other substats. But I feel that's kind of the point being made by that person, too. The odds of perfect rolls on artifacts are so low, you'll accept copium artifacts with a few bad rolls just because even the odds of _copium_ artifacts is hard to accomplish sometimes, let along perfect ones.

It's hard and can be frustrating sometimes, but hey, you gotta change your mindset a lil bit too. You don't need perfect artifacts, using half decent ones will already do enough to 9 star f12 if you've played long enough. Also a lot of problems I see with the community as a whole is they don't even understand what good artifact is. Somebody made an argument that atk% is good (which is true, cr and cdmg isn't everything), and they got absolutely blasted by idiots saying "COpIuM". The community as a whole think too highly of crit% and didn't stop to consider the other stat alternatives. With that said though, I still think artifact farming should be a bit easier, cause it can indeed be a bit frustrating if you're unlucky for a really long amount of time.

The enkanomia event part made me firt go" ok i get it-" but then it kicked in.THE EVENT. WAS ALL MONTH LONG. If you say, start the very second the update came. You still have 30 days of time to rush the story and do the event. And tbh. The event seems big, it is 7 hours worth if you get everything and take your time even more. But the story despite not skipable scenes. Takes maybe about. 10 hours? ONLY archon story ok? Not including the other things of course.

I think the 25% chance x 5 means that random stats upgrade five times (lvl 4, 8, 12, 16, 20), and each time you have a 25% chance to get it into the one you want. But I do agree that multiple stats can be beneficial, though.

I actually came back to the video and rn it's literally 3 am so I have something to say. F2p players can get very good characters and don't have to spend a single dime. It is possible to have some rlly good characters with some rlly good damage and still be f2p. I have Ayaka, Raiden, Yelan, and C1 Diluc. Plus my yanfei (aka my main dps for life) is about to be triple crowned soon and can do 30k damage just from one elemental skill when something is affected by cryo or hydro. Is it as much as a hutoa built by a whale? No ofc not, but hey 30k every couple of seconds is pretty good (at least to me) I don't know why I went on a rant about that, just every time I say "Oh I can't wait till my (insert character) does (whatever amount of damage) I get to hear "nO yOu caNt uR F2p" Even if ut takes 100000000 years ima make yanfei do 100k damage with one elemental skill one day or something like that. Btw I'm not saying it's for everyone to do 1 million damage at once, I'm just saying basically don't limit yourself just because ur f2p. F2p for life tbh lol

F2P just get to spots that whales get to slower, but eventually they can definitely get there. Except for maybe the mega whales that have several R5 weapons. No F2P is gonna pull on the weapon banner enough to get like a C5 Homa + a C5 Freedom Sworn + C5 Elegy.

@@Ratheil yeah mega whales will always have some crazy and outrageous damage that f2ps won't reach, I'm just talking about the whales who have some 5 star cons and good artifacts. Just something about ppl saying that you can't do this that or the other just because ur f2p is dumb tbh. I've seen dozens of reviews of people saying "You can't have good characters if you are f2p and you -need- to spend money" I understand ppl may not have the best luck, but I had to hit 80 and up pity for most of my five stars and even doing that was reachable.

I don't get the gripes people had with not being able to participate in events. I remember not playing the game for 1 months after summer vacation patch, which means i missed out on the theater mechanicus and even getting free beidou. That's because i haven't continue the archon quest about kazuha, but it didn't pissed me off why? Because i still have a shitton of content and archon quest that I can play. Every single one of these except the last one provided valid points, and I'm not sure why you chose to include such a senseless and just blatantly stupid review as the last one. It wasn't even funny, it just looked like an adult making fun of a review clearly written by a child. It is BAFFLING to me how you can defend the resin system, which exists *solely* to milk us of money. This isn't China, the rest of the world has not a single reason for the resin system to exist other than for HYV to milk us for money, but when it does, it has no place being put on resource farms that are RNG gated as it is. I know this is a strange concept for you as a whale with multiple accounts, but most of us don't want to spend a truckload on the game, nor have the energy to run multiple accounts. It wouldn't be such an issue if you could stockpile condensed resin, but they set it to a limit of 5 to ENSURE that people cannot go more than a few days of not logging on without losing out considerable amounts of resources. As for half hour being not respectful of our time, I feel like you just intentionally misinterpreted this, or are so stupid that you don't understand how abysmal the current resin system is. Everyone does not have time to spend 30 minutes a day playing Genshin. Most people have lives to attend to, and thus logging onto Genshin fucking Impact every single day isn't their top priority. Personally, I prefer spending lots of time every now and then when I can relax to grind up and catch up. However, due to Genshin's structure, this won't work. Genshin Impact doesn't respect your time at all, because it tells you to work on IT'S time AND pay money if you want to get the max potential out of strengthening your account. You either function by it's specific time and rules, or you go fuck yourself. I can pick up Elden Ring and progress whenever the fuck I want, but Genshin decides FOR ME when I can progress or not. This is yet another predatory system which incites you to spend money. The fact that it's "OPTIONAL" is such a garbage fucking take. Yeah, the entire game is optional, but if I want to play the game and excel at it, I don't have any fucking option other than to pay real money. And mind you, it's severely overpriced. "Free is not overpriced" when majority of the progression is locked behind an escalating number of primogems with each refill, on a daily basis, then it's not fucking free is it. And you don't get to say stupid shit like "there are so many quests", because no the fuck there aren't. There's nothing to do at endgame, not a single quest other than us desperately clamouring for content with patches and events. When it comes to it being too expensive to have everything in the game, this wouldn't be such an issue if the game had something you can do other than farm mobs for ascension materials (some of which are resingated too) when you are out of resin, because all that leaves is for you to build new characters, which cost primogems to obtain. Not to mention the *ludicrous* advantage that 5 star weapons give you. As a dolphin myself, you are just flat out lying when you say it isn't expensive. F2P players regularly complain about how limited the game is when you don't pay. Hell, whales with F2P accounts do that too. *I myself* struggle to play on my F2P account because of how little fun it is comparatively. As for the event unfairness, it's such an issue that even Hoyoverse is doing something about it now. Get your shit together man. You are a completely and utterly disingenuous person. I genuinely am starting to think that you have been hired by Hoyoverse to make this type of content. You may be Canadian, but your evident adoration of corporate capitalism designed against the common consumer makes it very clear that you are North-American. You talk shit about Apple, and as someone who's been cucked by them before, I agree, but you don't get to talk shit about the very same predatory bullshit that you are defending.

1. You say the resin system is pointless, but at the same time, it gives a reason to come back. If we fully get decked out with god tier artifacts, the game just loses yet another reason to return. Predatory? Sure, but its only predatory if you are spending money... which is optional. Moreover, any form of leveling up in a video game WILL require you to put in a given amount of time. Sure genshin time gates you, but for someone with a busy schedule, whats the issue? 2. You state that it disrespects your time, cause you have a life to live, but as stated previously, it takes about what.. 30 minutes a day to get your daily farming done? Sure you may miss out on potential artifacts if you are physically incapable of logging in everyday, but so what? But again spending is optional. You don't NEED to get them, as many free alternatives still work great. Sure, your characters won't be that cracked, but you don't NEED to be. If you are capable of clearing everything, what's the point of "exceling" in the game ifyou are already beating it. 4. Your comment on apple is just ???, The only comment he made about them is being unable to view the reviews, and how thats kinda stupid. Overall, I understand how the game can be frustrating. But this is simply how most gacha games work. They are not for everyone, and that is understandable. No one is forcing you to enjoy the shit you dislike. If you dislike it, move on. However, people will continue to defend gacha games, because they enjoy the format provided by them. They allow for a casual experience, and won't take up 6+ hours of your day to play, allowing for people with minimal time to play games, a chance to slowly work towards stronger characters when they have a chance at longer play sessions. I honestly kind of love how genshin's artifact system spits in the face of extreme min maxers, specifically the ones who think that building a character in the 100% most optimal way is the only one valid way to play the game. I've seen so much less "why are you building your character like x" in genshin than in other communities, and often times when I do see it happen it's directed towards meme builds and people who genuinely do not know how to build characters at all

Y'all this is unrelated to the video but there's a problem with me when it comes to artifacts and weapons i am either the dumbest or the most pathethic genshin player, i had a cryo dmg cup with 33+ crit dmg on it and guess what i did to it.................mmk now there was another time were i also had somwhat prefarmed for Kazuha or Venti since people said their reruns where around the corner ( their reruns didn't happen until 2022) i had a pretty azz but still decent VV flower it has the basic 13 crit Rate and 13 crit dmg nothing bad but also no that good, i deleted aka fed these artifacts to increase other arifacts for Raiden now im crying cause i have Ayaka and also im probably gonna be whailing for Kazuha ( not a suprise there) i BARELY play the game so my characters are so BAD, their artifacts are trash while some are ok and also f**k crit dmg and rate i never get any EM or Elemental DMG bonus cups that are good I got a job that pays me $5 an hour don't know if that's good or not but i need a console so i can play Genshin on it

The person who said genshin had 2000 problems obviously meant that as an exaggeration and I don't buy you didn't get that. It was all meant as comedic look at these reviews so of course I'm not taking 2000 problems seriously which is why I replied with a joke. The last one might have been a kid but I've known adults who would genuinely type like this plus I went pretty damn easy on that review. I also looked for hours through what I said at the beginning were mostly technical complaints about functionality, these are just some of what I found and I do think they're pretty ridiculous. I'm sort of a dolphin in this game. But this idea that whales have that they're the only ones that are running the game and somehow f2p players don't matter is absurd to me and always irks me a little. Think about how many whales are streamers with f2p viewers. If f2p players didn't exist why would that whale/streamer stay relevant? 🤔 Of course I know there might be players that don't stream or create content but still whale on this game. I agree that majority of funds Mihoyo gets come from these whales but that doesn't mean that people that don't spend can be discarded either.

Well I certainly didn't say or mean that F2P aren't important because they are. Whales/dolphins are the bank but the f2p aka majority of the playerbase are basically the heart and soul, and I mean real F2P, not the people who pretend but still buy BP/moon. Even the low spenders add up to a lot of the money too when you account for thousands of low spenders paying like 15-20 a month. Overall I don't see too many whales saying f2p aren't important but I don't exactly follow many either.

It varies from person to person. I only compared to MTG/LoL because they're popular and in all 3 games you don't need to own everyone to succeed, quite the opposite. You can own every Magic card and still only use 1 competitive deck, every LoL champ and still only play ADCs and in Genshin, a solid team of 8 characters to wreck the Abyss every week that can even consist of mostly starter characters. It definitely sucks when a new Genshin patch lands and a new 5 star is basically the only new thing we got, but it doesn't change the fact that you do not NEED the new character. We just want it.

tbh as an AR 56 i stopped playing frequently since 8 months ago , i did whale a good ammount and all i can say is that , the game is not that worth it , i admit its good to hop on and explore the new parts of the map , scenery is stunning , the music is really good ... but other than that the game gets quite repetitive, state of the game is an absolute pile of fuming dogshit , and the devs??? ha even worse ... but hey , i never held high expectations... we are talking about a chinese company after all...
