Thank you so much Rob! I am truly honored to call you my friend and hobby colleague. You do so much for this great hobby and that's what first attracted me to you and your channel. Keep it up and thanks again so much for your wonderful comments. And yes - gaming is all about being able to actually play the game and having fun doing it! If that's not the case, then you are doing it wrong.

Totally agree. As newer wargamer I became a Luttmann fan right away. Him and other designers and publishers are so open and friendly that get me so interested and even better, get me to read more.

My best friend and I went to Gettysburg last summer. This game was a must have and the map is truly magnificent. This is definitely a grail game on the battle of Gettysburg. Rick Barber, Never Forgotten. The Blind Swords system is terrific, and this Black Swan system is equally as brilliant. Flying Pig Games is first class all the way. Mark Walker is a war gaming hobby, Hall of Famer. Hermann Luttmann is a masterful game designer. Great vid, I totally agree with everything you had to say!👍

Excellent analysis of the game. I visited Gettysburg and Antietam last week and this game is outstanding. I particularly like the Command system, which accurately the problems of trying to control large citizen armies in the mid 19th century. I hope he does Antietam and Shiloh.

A great review as always! Our goal was always to produce an elegant game that included some of the chaos of real life and was fun to play. Thanks. PS: it may sale out shortly.

This game does look wonderful and you got me excited for it. I don't have much time in the days anymore so I have to be very selective in which game systems I get into. Therefore I tend to lean towards systems that have many games in the series. An example is OSG's TLNB series. Hordes of games and absolutely fun to play. Another example is SPQR. Hordes of games and hordes of fun. To the point...is this a one-off? Or will we see more games in the series? I know the horrible part is the loss of Mr. Barber....I love his work.

Looks awesome; haha you need to have a club if you do not have one - you have the the coolest games! Sorry but I am a history nerd and the Springfield 1861 (commonly issued at the time) could shoot ROUGHLY 3 round per minute! Not a "well ackshually" just a cool tidbit!

I wonder if this system (Black Swan) would be a good foundation for a campaign game, such as the Vicksburg or Fredericksburg campaign or, better yet, Kentucky 1862. Pull back from the individual battlefields, to an operational area map, with some "generic" map boards for the battles. I think Jackson's Valley Campaign would be another one that may well benefit from this system.

Then try “The Devil’s to Pay.” It was the first iteration of the new “Black Swan” system and the test bed for “A Most Fearful Sacrifice.” It was published by Flying Pig’s sister company, Tiny Battle.
