I like the word he used, "fantail" to refer to the back of the ship. My great grandfather and grandfather were both steam and diesel towboat (respectively) pilots on the inland waterways of the Eastern United States (Mississippi, Ohio, and tributaries) and the word comes from the days when there was a paddlewheel (the "fan") at the stern of the boat. The fantail was the area supporting the shaft of the paddlewheel (usually with walkways built into it, so the "striker" (oil crew) could go out and lubricate the bearings and the carpenter could do wheel repairs). It's nice to know that this obsolete term is still in use in nautical work, military or otherwise. I know there's older terms even than that, from the Age of Sail, but it's nice to know there's vocabulary relics of the later, but still significant, steam era. Boat handling, of any size, is dangerous and precision work, with a long tradition behind it, hence the specialized vocabulary. (The Inland Waterway steam era also has terms borrowed not from ocean-going maritime work, but from the farms where many steamboat crew members were born). My other grandfather taught physics to Navy cadets during WWII, called "90 Day Wonders", before they shipped out to be part of engineering battalions in both the European and Pacific theaters. So although my family's wartime service tended to be civilian, we still had roles to play in keeping the country working, and our military trained. So proud of the United States Navy.

Either let someone else on the team do it, or do it himself. Why let someone else get that extra cash? Even though he was a Chief in the Navy, its not like he made that much money. He risked everything (as did his teammates and more), so it doesn't bother me if he cashes it in. As long as he isn't compromising security and tactics, I really don't give a shit. All of these war stories DRIVE more and more young men to join up and that only makes us better as a fighting force. Every generation has their books/movies that make them want to join. Sometimes you wonder if this guy is full of sh**, he was there rescuing captain Philip's, rescuing Marcus Luttrell, yada yada. Then as someone who was US Special Operation Forces (2007-2014) I remind myself, the POTUS Obama had hand picked his team to go kill the final bossman (Osama Bin Laden). Only the best of the best, of the bestest will get that mission. For those who weren't military let me put Navy Seals, and Delta force in perspective. You need a high Combat fight IQ, and damn good genetics to become those. They are literally the Michael Jordans, Stephan Curry's, Lebron James, Larry Birds, Kobe, Shaq of the military. Although I was in Special Operations my body genetics would not allow me to become a navy seal. I obviously had the mental ability, but my body type would not be able to sustain the coldness of the water as my body fat ratio would likely result in me always getting hypothermia. My command wanted me to be at around 185 lbs, as I was 6'0", but I was actually 160 lbs wet. I was far to skinny.

Now ask him what was on that boat that was the reason for this large of an escalation and then let's have that conversation 😉🙂

They wanted all the cargo on the ship. They steal the whole ships and use them basically for ransom. I think they just fucked with the wrong ship. A 🇺🇸 ship. And we don't negotiate with terrorists

I hear the same thing about Obama from other dudes that do things we can't talk about, like at the decision level, giant balls and iron backbone.
