Patti and I decided to do another Roulette video. This time we switched it up and decided to do Brewery Roulette. I picked several breweries that I either have not been to or have not been to in a very long time and put them on my picker wheel. Patti spun the wheel and we got to visit a brewery. We’ve never been to before. It was pretty outstanding. We highly recommend it if you are able to make the journey.

Oh hey, an actual roulette wheel!

When I asked the table attendant to take our picture, I’m guessing the last thing he was thinking was it was going to become part of a thumbnail.

What a lovely video. I like the fact that you bring your wife to actual places instead of hole-in-the-whole Fast Food joints.

Well… now that you mention it. Another video might be published in a couple weeks that takes us to a fast-food joint. This wasn’t a normal opportunity so I thought I would record it. I am very curious to see how people (the Rob Mob) might enjoy that video.

Ah, I see you too have discovered how "random chance" sometimes needs lots of chances to get where you want it to go! Glad you're having a great trip!

I’m not sure what you are talking about….. I’m just glad we were within an UBER ride distance from the brewery that came up. This is turning out to be a great trip.

oh yes, just as I happened to be staying at my aunt's house near Gleason, birthplace of the Giant Spider Invasion, when my Film Review Roulette wheel selected Giant Spider Invasion. It's all "perfectly random"! ;)@@RobMilanowski

This is super wholesome content. You and Patti have a great, positive attitute that is actually kinda infectious. Keep the videos coming, Rob! Also, let me just say how nice it is to see you using an actual roulette, unlike other youtubers that I could think of.

Thank you for saying that. I enjoy making these videos. I love it when Patti is able to be in them. She doesn’t like to do much talking, but when she does, I think it makes them more appealing. We were lucky that the place we were staying actually had a casino in it. The table attendant had a good time taking our picture. I didn’t notice until I reviewed the pictures that another casino worker was photo-bombing every picture. I needed to edit that out for the thumbnail.

Rob, seems totally legitimate to me and very random. Hope you and Patti had a GUD day.
@RobMilanowski

We did have a gud day! Yes, my goal was to make this as legitimate of a pick as possible. My first thought was to print each selection on a piece of paper, assemble those pieces of paper into a book and then have Patti flip that book to a random selection. But, every time she flipped the pages her finger would slip onto the same page. It didn’t seem very random to me. Our fake roulette wheel worked great.

We definitely lucked out. I don’t know if you checked out some of the other choices on our roulette wheel. If Miller Brewery would have come up, we would have needed to book a very expensive ticket to get there, and it would have taken a couple days. Lucky Pirate Life was only a A$23.00 Uber ride away. We lucked out!

Love me a good hazy IPA! Those ribs looked spectacular btw. Do you think you would've been able to just use your lips to get the meat off the bone? There's one KZbinr I watch who does that to judge the ribs and calls it the "lip test." But this is the same guy who also says you can judge a Chinese restaurant solely off their orange chicken, so who knows?
@RobMilanowski
@RobMilanowski 7 ай бұрын
Actually… those ribs would have passed the lip test. They were very,very tender. But, they were very tasty as well. I’ve noticed many good craft breweries also have good food. I think it helps bring in more than just the beer crowd. My two favorite breweries in Wisconsin do NOT serve food. They are great breweries and do not need to use food to bring folks in. As far as Orange Chicken and Chinese restaurants, I don’t agree. I use the Fried Rice as a measure.

Australia treated us very well. We got to see a lot of interesting things met some great people and enjoyed some pretty outstanding weather. We didn’t get a chance to eat very much in Melbourne. For lunch we explored some of the Alleys and found a sandwich shop with a long line. (Those are usually the best). It was great. We are now finishing up our extended holiday. We are in Napier New Zealand today.

Hey Rob! I enjoy the content; I've been watching for a little while now... mmmh, maybe like 6 months? on and off and I've always found comfort in your calm and laid back tone. Your videos are organized without an over-the-top fashion and I don't feel like I'm watching a used cars salesmen try to offer me the 'best deal ever' or 'the best tasting dish" on something that they don't know anything about. I was wondering; it may have been discussed before or on the other hand you may not want to discuss it at all and if so, be sure to shoot this down and let it be known. But you are quite a put together man it seems, quite relaxed and you live in a beautiful country side area it seems. What is/was your profession? I imagine something to do with following specific directions, carpenter maybe? Or something with electronics? Hope to hear back from you soon and I hope you have a lovely rest of your day/night when/if you see this!

Thanks for asking, and thanks for the compliments on my videos. I am a retired Software developer. I wrote software for factory automation and business systems. The company I started off with (and ultimately stayed with in one form or another) had never hired a Computer Scientist before me. I helped them develop software for individual machines and complete factory automation. After about 20 years I moved over to developing and supporting ERP systems for their various business plants around the world . Yes, my work required me to be pretty procedural but allowed room for creativity.

@@RobMilanowski Oh wow! See, I had a feeling it was going to be doing something with tech. So, I’ve gotta ask, do you still do any programming on the side as a hobby? Do you have any active projects or consider doing it anymore? Also, was your programming specifically for the company and that’s it? Or did you ever take it into hobbyist territory?
@RobMilanowski
@RobMilanowski 7 ай бұрын
@@NirvanaNectar no, I never use programming as a hobby. The position I had was actually very stressful in that any software I wrote, or was in charge of supporting was pretty much a 24/7 situation. If something did not work correctly, or the user somehow got into a situation by using a machine or business system incorrectly, I needed to get them out of that situation quickly. It was never a life or death situation, but when a portion of a business cannot operate for a few hours, that can cost the business millions of dollars. So, doing this for fun on weekends and night was not an option for me. For fun I have developed websites for nonprofit organizations in my community that I want to help. The software I use for that does not really require any programming. I’m OK with that.

@@RobMilanowski Nice, I respect that quite a bit actually. You took your job serious and you did it with a professional mindset. One hell of an industry to get into when you did too I imagine. It's fascinating to hear about stuff like this from random blips on the internet. If you ever have a chance, could you consider doing a Q&A type video or maybe just a 'walk through memories' type of one? I find those quite relaxing and you give such a cozy production I feel like it would be quite fitting. I don't know if it's weird, but one of my favorite things to do is just hear people talk about the past, happy memories and such. Or how things were like in specific areas of industry/recreation and if you feel like they were better or worse. Reminiscing is one of the few things most of us are able to do for free and feel good. So I just like hearing other peoples stories. Maybe I am weird lol.

I’m sorry if I screwed up your fast. That was not my intention. Those ribs were actually very very tasty. This might be a little TMI, but I’ve had some stomach issues the last couple days. Today I’m feeling pretty good. I’ll have to check to see if there’s ribs anywhere near me today. I might have to try some. By the way, are you doing the intermittent fasting to lose weight or for some other health benefit.? How is that working out?

@RobMilanowski No worries, mate. I've been doing IF for 2 years or so to lose weight. I've lost 9 kilograms (19 pounds) and it works for me. I find I have more energy at work. But if you stop IF for like a month your weight can really balloon so you have to continue it.
