Greatest player ever, made me fall in love with football, we still miss you Le Tiss, COYS!

The greatest player to grace the premier league. He doesn’t epitomise Southampton, he’s a one off genius

I totally agree. Should have been picked for England many more times than he was. Last time I returned to England (now live in Australia) I went to St Mary's for three games and a friend of the family was the MC in one of the special areas where I managed to get a spot and sat with the late great Peter Osgood and met Jimmy Case and Graeme Le Saux. Unfortunately Mr Le Tissier wasn't present that day. Bought a shirt at the stadium on another visit and had "Le Fitz" with the number 7 emblazoned on it in recognition of my favourite footballer of all time!!

Great React. Love it when players are loyal to their club

@@RobReacts1 yeah. They’re a rare breed. Usually from way back or mainly lower tier clubs or semi pro. Linfield FC in Belfast has a player -Noel Bailie who played for 22 years putting in over 1000 appearances. Can’t think of many players in the U.K. today who have that kind of loyalty. The only exception of top flight players with long service in the modern era seems to be out of the U.K.

An absolute legend. Some of his goals were the best I ever seen and I am not even a Southampton fan
@RobReacts12 жыл бұрын
Did you see he stepped down as a saints ambassador due to a comment he put on twitter the other day!
@KevinKaffy2 жыл бұрын
@@RobReacts1 Yes I did and was totally shocked and was one of the reasons I am watching videos of him again now. I don’t think his views are very extreme so I am sure he got tired of the exaggerated reactions to some comments he made. I am not sure if he left or was pushed out but a very sad day for Southampton FC for sure. He is one of those guys you just know loves and enjoys the game so much and I am sure leaving the club was difficult for him. I think the fans still appreciate him and his legend status will remain. I remember reading Alan Balls comment on the tactics when he took over Southampton and they were bottom of the league “Just give the ball to Le Tissier” and it worked perfectly 😂

Great player, it's a crime he didn't play more games for England.

As I mention the problem is I can see the same thing happening with JWP

No, he's not even close to that level. More David Bentley than Beckham.
@RobReacts13 жыл бұрын
But my point is the same on how because he isn't in one of the big clubs, he doesn't get a look. Same as Matt Le tisd

Such a good player , I love non brand name clubs like yours . But I go for QPR

Do you think if Le Tissier was in his 20s today his skills would compete with modern players? They might not look as good when comparing old footage like this, but considering they probably train way more and smarter with newer technology and years of studying the game, I kinda think defenders would stop him easier.. just a thought.
@RobReacts13 жыл бұрын
I think that's a hard one to say. You could say the same about players such as maradona or Pele. He could certainly still score those beautiful volleys, free kicks and pens though. But if only players were as loyal as Le Tiss
@davidhoward53923 жыл бұрын
Naturally gifted footballer, on the continent would have been given the credit he deserved but this is a league that cherishes work rate and athletism over talent. As a Toon fan, we suffered more than most against us at the Dell. Wonderful player, understand why he is called Le God and the love the fans have for him. Born with this gift can't be coached..

this is the content I've been waiting for, makes me kinda sad to see football(soccer) turn to shit.. Luckily AFL hasn't gone to complete shit.. yet.

If he was such a legend, what has he won? 🤔
@RobReacts13 жыл бұрын
Do you have to win medals and trophies to still be a legend?
@louissmith13933 жыл бұрын
Yes. Le Tissier could’ve gone to a big club like Man U at the time and won trophies which would probably have got him more England caps but he just wanted to settle for mediocrity by keeping a struggling club up from relegation. Not denying he was a great player but he wasted his talent and was unambitious.

@@louissmith1393 Back when Matt Le Tissier played, football was about loyalty and not about money or winning trophies all the time like now. Football is so different today compared to back then. All football is now is about winning trophies and greedy for money and it's sad.
