I think what he means is, when someone hurts you out of anger and just spews out words that eventually they don't really mean. I thought he believed in freedom of speech and not being a snowflake? Parents have years of advantage over their children in order to know how to handle things better. If you messed up to the point where your kids as a adults are giving you terrible feedback, the least you can do is listen, apologize and try to make amends. If they as kids were expected to just deal with bad parents while being completely at their mercy and having no solid mental or emotional coping mechanisms, surely an adult can deal with criticism?

Once they reach 18, they are like any other adults and don’t owe you a damn thing. It’s totally possible to make a child that doesn’t want to hang with their parents. That’s why, if you want kids / grandkids around, you should have 10-12 of them and then the odds of a few wanting to hang out with you in adulthood is higher. That’s my observation from my grandmothers who had 8 & 12 each, my mother who had 6 and me having 3. I’ll probably have only one keeping in touch regularly. It’s just a normal variation in personalities. It does not mean you have or are doing something wrong. What’s wrong is thinking it’s abnormal to have children who don’t want to hang with their parents.

Rob, I am sorry you are going through this. I love that you have had the opportunity however on television in front of the world to tell your daughter how you feel. But.. with all due respect, I feel as though kids these days just need to blame someone for who they are as adults and for their unhappiness, and I don’t think it is right. I always say “our lives is what we want it to be and what we make it out to be”. She is an adult now, and in order for her to live happy, she must take some accountability and look within herself. AND, in your case you are so famous! Which I will assume you were probably on set a lot, maybe did some things you shouldn’t have, but we are ONLY human. Instead of kids blaming 1 or both of their parents, I would like to see them take some accountability as well. My parents did not raise me and both were addicts and I DO NOT sit here today and BLAME THEM FOR ANY OF MY Issues. There comes a time to forgive and move on. I hope Rob can find peace and live his life to the fullest. His daughter telling the world Rob was not a good father to her is unnecessary. Rob please keep in mind, even in households where both parents are present and are considered “normal” parents, the kids will turn around and blame them for working too much and blame any of their own personal issues on them. I feel as though celebrities do not get enough empathy for how the world of being famous can take over your life and before you know it, you have been so busy living a life you didn’t plan on. Young parents make a LOT of mistakes! I know because I came from a young parent! As an adult you should get it! She healed from it and so did I! At some point you have to look at it logically! I completely understand both sides. Since my dad was in and out of my life. The best advice is y’all need to sit down and have a heart to heart conversation. It’s not the easiest conversation, but for me it was worth it. Also, what he lacked from being a parent he’s made up for it by being a great grandparent. He made my kids Mickey Mouse pancakes. I had never seen that man make that in my life 😂 made my heart happy to see my kids happy with my dad 💜
