@@DJEK44 generally speaking - the military trains doctors but they have to agree to serve for 10 years I believe before going civilian. Could not similar incentives be designed similar to that?

We already have private clinics for the military as we should, The politicians get access to that at least I know the federal politicians do sports teams if you're on a football team or basketball baseball team professionally you get injured you get x-rays or MRI the next day I had been waiting since March and I finally got an appointment August 19th. Also this takes place in Europe quite a bit they have a public supplemented with private system and it works quite well so let's give it a try nothing else we've tried works you know we're paying nurses RN $62/hr Never mind all the extras in their collective agreement And we're still short of nurses

The only way to resolve all kinds of shortage issue is to increase the service supply. In this case, it is the number of clinics/hospitals and the number of doctors/nurses/healthcare workers. If we are complaining about the public healthcare services, why not open to the private healthcare. The only difference is who is owning the healthcare services: either the public or the private. The goal to establish an universal healthcare system is to ensure everyone gets treated equally but that does not mean you should stick to the public funded healthcare services. The private healthcare services will also do the job. To the individuals, it is a matter of who is paying for the service provider, and the quality of the service. It really does not matter the service is provided by public or private. Either way, if the private is better, why forcing everyone to only check with the public? Giving more options to everyone, establish competition. The market will do the job to filter out the bad service provider. The government only needs to ensure sufficient policies and audits are in place. I believe by allowing private healthcare services to join the market will also adopt more doctors and nurses, thus reduce the wait time for patients.
