Building everything yourself is always appreciated. Safe Travels

You two did a very good job, especially with the limited tools you had and being in the desert. Like the fact you didn't over do it, yet it's very livable and has pretty much everything you need. Didn't see a toilet facility, but we all know what the options are. Hope you have a great time.

Lol, thanks, but I don’t think they would interested in us 😊 we did have a drill, but most everything was done by on old fashion hand saw.

You should be so proud of your hard work. A build isn’t an easy thing to do! Love the team work!!

Great build. The tent is a perfect solution for how to do a build on the road. The van looks really comfortable and nice!

Awesome job..but....in an emergency can you still access to back door for safety...maybe cut a small door to the garage leading out.

I miss the desert and beautiful sunsets. I am at my son's home in Florida since March, just before the virus hit. No traveling now as it's not safe. Staying inside for 4 months now. I miss traveling and especially my friends in Quartzite and Flagstaff. I enjoy watching your adventures.

Watching again. I would love to see a new van tour video on the updates you have done over the last couple of years. I know you went from a cooler to a fridge and added the solar. I'd like to see how you integrated those into the van.

Very well done, looks clean and comfortable! I would really, like to see you produce a how-to video but not on the van build but instead how to do a video where the background music doesn't blow out the speaking! So many KZbin videos overwhelm the audience with music that is way to loud and in many cases inappropriate to the subject of the video. Thanks for sharing your great work!
@RobandMarvy3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I think most people do not understand using music. While I may make the occasional music error.. I a Simply cannot watch videos with that loud modern electronic sound, or music that just doesn’t flow with the video.

Not bad at all! Im about to embark on a van build myself. Got the foam boards up...now Im trying to figure out how to attach the wall panels. My van is a GMC savana, same as the Chevy express.

Nicely done! good thing you two like each-other!!!! I would suggest more bunggie cords in the kitchen area! Swing by Colorado Springs, I've got dozens of them in the GARAGE! Do you remember the Ford Econoline we had back in the 80s? It was also very rustic! Love you - Marvy is Awesome! Come see us!!!
@RobandMarvy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Leah... lotsa work indeed. Very different when I was traveling across the country back in 1984. We just had a basic platform bed and a bench seat...all just nailed plywood! Again, not this trip. But hopefully when we finish the trip... we will have Colorado in our plans. You can always get a group trip up to the Tetons in August! I think, with luck and good winds...I should be there!!

OMG so glad to see someone else in a chevy express extended!! I am looking to purchase one right now. Can you tell me if its actually 12ft from the back of the driver seat to the back door? I was thinking about doing the same in the back for a garage, but just a half wall as the back of my day bed. I will be solo so I will have my bed horizontally. I need to carry crafting items, 6ft folding table, 10x10 tent. Watching your video i know its possible.. oh and how tall is your bed? ive been trying to confirm the height of the wheel wells? Thanks in advance.. hope to see you on the road one day!!

Hi there. I just watched your interview with Bob, and jumped over here to see your build. Outstanding! If possible, can you tell me you mattress size, and also, do you know the overall interior length there in the van from back door to your panels behind the seat? Be safe out there.
@RobandMarvy4 жыл бұрын
I built the bed platform first, all the way to the sides of the van and then only 60" long. We then decided that we would have it 54" wide (Full mattress size) Then we framed in the shelves on either size so as to leave 54". The bed platform was 13" off the floor. Then I build a hinged foot platform 12" to reach to the floor that could be lifted up at night for my feel. Then bought an infused memory foam mattress (Full) at Walmart and cut it using an electric kitchen carving knife to fit the bed. It is a perfect size for two us us. I do not the length now. But I have a 2003 chevy express Extended van, and the panels are about eight inches from the front seats.

Not my cup of tea if you can't even stand up in it.

Completely understand. I would love to stand up. But, sometimes you have to work with what you have. For me the priority is being free and traveling. Later we might get that hi-top!!
